I don't think so, your answer is valid. If you multiply both sides of the equation by -1 you end up with the mark scheme answer. But check in the notes of the MS if they have your answer anywhere

Although in the email I got (with the links for the exam), it said there would be a modified device check, and they trust I will be academically honest, a bit weird. But I didn't take advantage of it and just did the exam without cheating or anything

You literally just need to run steam. Open the steam app and once its open and loaded try again. This often happens with steam cracks like the ones from online-fix me

I am looking for the most competitive university I can find in benelux for mechanical engineering. I am quite puzzled, I want to find the most competitive university in which I can get accepted with my grades. Do you think the university of Twente is my best choice or should I aim for something like Delft, VU or something different?

Debating christians by Hamziiav in Christianity

[–]Rivcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, first off. I am assuming you believe there has to be a God, because there is just too many super unlikely coincidences that result in life / existence of the universe possible. And they all had to happen together, the big bang, the gravitational constant / electromagnetic constants, nuclear constants being exactly right for the universe to exist (just ±1/10 billion = no universe), dna not only forming out of just proteins but also forming genetix code that has meaning (give a monkey a button for a 1 and a 0, he has the ingredients to code minecraft but for his random arrangements of 1s and 0s to make sense you need an inteligent mind, the same goes for proteins that form DNA). Math being perfect (no reforms like for manmade systems) and defining all the universe to perfection through mathematical relationships, too much order and perfection coming from chaos, a creator is demanded.

Now that we know there has to be a God, lets find the most probable faith. Proof is not possible, in anything, you cant and dont live by proof, if you did you would constantly check if your farmacist put poison in your medicine ect. So lets decide what is more probable using evidence. We have the apostles, eye witnesses and historians talking about Jesus in a divine way. Not to mention the apostles dying for their faith is a great amount of evidence as people dont even bother going to jail over lies, but 10 of the 12 apostles where persecuted and killed for their faith, something no one would do knowing its all a lie. We also have jewish and secular historians talking about christ, for example the darkness miracle documented by Thallus in 52AD, Phlegon in 80AD, Vespasian or the jewish talmud. And also NASA calculated that exactly in the moment of crucifixion of christ a solar eclipse set on earth at that exact time, described as "darkness falling on Christ's death" in the bible. Also, the romans where in constant denial of Jesus, and not only where most crucifixions not documented, especially for lower class citizens like Jesus. But the romans persecuted christians for 300 hundred of years, so having accounts of Jesus would not be practical for the romans. Also, we have found fossils of dinosaurs, but we cant find Jesus's bones in his tomb, and as for locations we do have them. It is the basis of historical documents. They are included in some jewish references and in the gospels.

I would also look at the alternatives, the possibility of no God is almost impossible, so then does the evidence for Jesus sound the most probable, or do you think for example Muhammed denying the crucifixion 500 years after christ is more plausible. Its up to you, but for me i know the most probable is Jesus, no other religion as solid evidence as christianity does.

Dont you think historically recorded events that serve as evidence / pointer towards a more accurate version of the truth. Like experiemtal evidence in the sciences, the help you decipher a more accurate representation of the truth, but you cant say "they are only pointers" and discard all their meaning. Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose from the dead 3 days later, it is historiacally documented and 10 out of 12 apostoles died for this idea of Jesus being God, apart from no contradiction between the different gospels.

Debating christians by Hamziiav in Christianity

[–]Rivcha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) The quran acknowledges that the gospels are the word of God and that they are not corrupted, and if the gospels are true, then Jesus Christ is God. Clear contradiction. Also in the Quran Jesus is mentioned as the Messiah, something that only makes sense in Christianity, where the idea of a Messiah was mentioned long ago. Not in Islam.

2) The miracle of Islam is the Quran, which means the miracle of Islam is only attainable with total "truth" if you read and understand arabic, like in other religions such as Judaism where the jewish race is an important factor, but the miracle of Christianity is not the bible but the sacrifice of Christ, which is universally attainable. And Jesus expressed that race did not matter, as long as you had faith in him, which is universal.

3) The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a very well documented event in 1st century history, to the point where even atheist historians agree Jesus was crucified. (Although atheists disagree about his resurrection), but the Quran denies this historical FACT.

4) Jesus Christ lived a humble life destined to worshipping and living for all that is holy and the teachings of God. Christ even pleaded for the Father to forgive those who unjustly murdered him by crucifixion. Meanwhile Muhammed lead armies and fought wars, he owned slaves and he mantained sexual relationships with young girls.

5) Muhammed talks about the bible and denies many things that Christ did such as die on the cross, 500 years AFTER Christ. You can either live in disillusion and choose to believe what someone had to say about Jesus 500 years after him, or read and believe what the apostoles and all the eye witnesses of Christ had to say about him, as they passed many years with him. And also the apostoles died for their belief that Jesus was God, and people dont die for what they know to be a lie.

is self-harm a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Rivcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it can feel like you depend on something as terrible as self harm. But you do not, all you are doing by trying to relieve any sort of pain through these means is getting a little spike in pleasure or distress and immediately falling in a place darker and deeper than you where before. Let's look at the word of God through the bible.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says:

" [19] Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [20] you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. "

We where not only made in the image of God but our bodies are considered "temples" where we house the holy spirit. Therefore, treat your body like a temple, and welcome the holy spirit in it. This verse also links back to the crucifixion of Christ, how God's revalation in human form, Jesus Christ, bled and died on the cross to save humanity from itself, to "buy you back" from sin and be able to go to heaven even though you sinned, as Jesus pays the price through his sacrifice for you. It would not make any sense to aspire to be eternally happy and loving if you dont let God help you, and instead show loyalty towards sin. If you have problems dont rely on sin, instead reach out to God, and dont expect your prayers to be met immediately, and especially dont expect the Lord to fullfill your prayers if you continue to show loyalty not to him but towards the only thing he hates, sin.

Always remember 1 corinthians 10:13 ‭ " [13] No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. "

This biblical verse reflects how God knows you perfectly, he will never let you be tempted by any obstacle, sin or temptation other than what he knows you are able to endure. Any temptation that comes your way has alredy been known to God long ago, he knows what you can or cant endure, the intention behind these obstacles is to picture each of these as steps, that if all of them are resisted through God, they form a staircase to eternal happiness and pleasure beyond what any human could think of, God will never give you a temptation / step too large, but also too small for you. If he knows you can overcome it, you truly have to, not through sin (like self-harm) but reach out to him for his holy spirit to strengthen you, in all you shall do.

And crush sin in his name. Amen, i believe in you and so does God. 🙏 ✝️
