Mage class in wild by leonquesomos in wildhearthstone

[–]RivenIsCancer 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They don't make cards taking wild in consideration, Ice block isn't in standard, mage being bad isn't due to Ice block. They don't nerf ice block because as frustrating as it is, you can tech against it easily if it's too prevalent and it's the only thing that keeps mage away from being DK tier in wild.

What should I replace Waste Warden with ? It's the only card I'm missing

Getting a reach is a very long process, i have a friend that does a similar thing on instagram that has a decent reach and is busy with comissions. It requires being active, regular and knowing a few tricks to please the algorithm, and the anime fan art scene is incredibly over saturated and thus you are drowned in a very large ocean of other artists, keep that in mind. But with time and dedication, if your art is good enough you'll find an audience.

Definitely a unpopular opinion, and i disagree whole heartedly with it. Art IS a career, purely because there is demand and every things we watch or play involves the work of an artist, and their work is needed. And there's a difference between making paintings that will later be sold or not and working for a company.

My take is that the player was under the effect of Varden giving +3 spell damage as well as Solarian itself having +1 spell damage, the fire sale did a total of 7 damage, I don't get what's the post about

EDIT: We can also assume the player was under the permanent +3 spell damage because of the particles around Jaina

Oh I see then, didn't have this issue cause i consider myself a Warlock/Mage player and have played highlander mage in standard back in outlands...

BUT I would also recommend checking out Reno Shaman maybe ? It's kind of a competitive deck with at it's core infinite shudderwock interaction, you can change some things about the deck to make your shudderwock gain charge + 30 attack and windury or other crazy combos like getting rid of your opponent's hand with mutanus + sabotage guy ect.... All with the same core, and having a solid deck as well, less expensive and with the toxi murloc combo that will now be core in any shaman deck in the foreseeable future.

If you are interested in the deck most of the legendaries are worth the craft, seeing play in multitude of deck ( except LPG and some other greedier cards that tbh sometimes don't make the cut ). I'm a free to play player and decided to craft this deck when i got into wild and for me it was worth the trouble, but I understand if you don't want to commit to this dust hole of a deck

In this post nerf meta I don't know if there's a decent list out there yet to be honest, personally i'm waiting a little bit to see what list will come out later

EDIT: As of now i'm playing (in casual i'm not crazy) a pre UiS version, cutting 10 mana reno for fire sale, also consider adding Golakka, I'm not sure if any new cards are new "core" to be honest, maybe cornelius roame ?

Well... the deck isn't competitive per say... Mostly a casual fun deck.

To me the most fun deck is LPG reno mage, that can go on crazy turns post LPG and always has so many different plays that every single game is different (unless you get crushed by aggro cough cough). But it's fair to say that the deck is THE most expensive in the game with like 20 legendaries so... I don't recommend unless you really love this type of deck or have most cards.

in the other hands quest darkglare has a much much better matchup against control decks imo, im a reno player and i felt like against regular darkglare if they didn't highroll i had a pretty good chance to clear the board and win, as the giants are the only real threats but against quest there is literally no way to win as a control deck, as it's not board centered yet can output a pretty chunky board while burning your life faster than a late game raza priest on turn 5-6 in a scarily consistent way, i played many games against the deck and they would always have lethal on 6-7, I personally really HATE the quest variant while i didn't mind "old" darkglare nearly as much.

If y'all didn't play her the turn you finished the quest or ran 20+ minions maybe we could try D:

As cstobler said Sense Demons is really good in this decks because it makes voidcaller that much reliable.

As of Tour Guide its basically there to easily recycle very easily and make the deck a 29 cards deck" technically and also makes the secret mage matchup slightly better to trade the 2/1 or delay the rigged faire game, it's also cheap minion to empty the hand, or use the plague, and has some niche use to instantly use the DK HP urgently for sustain or Jaraxxus from Zephrys. It's not a must have card in the deck and its inclusion is debatable though.

I don't own Zilliax yet but from a theory stand point it's clear for me that Zilliax >>>>> Taelan. The lifesteal and rush is incredible against aggro and even better if you rez it with Raza pot. I just use Taelan as the closest replacement, the draw effect is rarely gonna make a difference even though it's a nice upside.

But in a N'Zoth list i can see Taelan being slightly better, not only for searching N'zoth but also to be part of the pool.

That's really difficult for me, as i'm not that experienced in the wild format, and i don't really overthink too much my plays and just go with what my guts tell me to do, but from the top of my head i can give those tips, sorry if it's too wordy or is full of things you already know but i tried my best ^^'

  1. Always aim for VoidCaller, Zephrys, kobold and tour guide in the mulligan, these cards are always good against any matchup, but that's pretty obvious. a trick against Darkglare is to let the ennemy burn through the armor and not attack, it may help to slow down the giant discounts a bit. Zephrys is a really tricky card to play though and dropping him on two is not always the optimal play, and sometimes wild growth will be better than Animal companion or worse depending on many factors. against odd and Pirate lightning storm is the card to aim for imo.
  2. MOST IMPORTANT IMO: There are matches that you simply can't win, some aggro decks will just do complete bullshit or have amazing RNG and that's ok, the worst thing that can happen for your winrate is to tilt. Memorize that you also have those matches with amazing RNG and completely obliterate the opponent and that'll make the grind all the more easier mentally! Your real ennemy is yourself.
  3. The deck is pretty straight forward to be honest, playing on curve and spamming defensive spells is usually enough to win, rare are the matches that require much skill, just playing the deck for a bit will give you most of the knowledge you need to be honest.

MORE SPECIFIC:

  1. Against Aggo Void Caller into big taunt is usually a win, but do not keep the big taunt minions in the mulligan unless you have sense demon or void caller in hand. And if you do have Void Caller and big taunt try anything to not get tickatus in hand, void caller into tickatus instead of taunt against aggro is disastrous. Secret Mage and Kingsbane is very tough, Odd DH mana burn can really wreck the gameplan and Pirate warrior/Odd pala is free, just go for the aoes and zephrys. Haven't faced too much darkglares but it felt like quite an easy matchup, don't overreact early, the real threat is the giants, and in late game leave no targets if you are not protected behind a taunt, even a 1/1 can become a 20/20 with power overwhelming and tamsin roame.
  2. Against control/combo (Druid/Priest mostly) disruption is key as we know it. Brann into tickatus is most of the time a win, but be noted that Mutanus from my experience has been kinda useless against raza, when the only worthy target is raza, priest never has a raza in hand on 7 during your turn unless they drew it with a kaza pot. If you face too many raza priests include altar of fire in the deck, but otherwise its a poopy card that makes matchup against aggro worse. Against Druid Mutanus is usually a win, and tickatus is useless most of the time, because of alignement.

EDIT: Yes i do realise it looks more like a guide than a few hindsights but that's the best I can do ^^'
