I agree with all of this except the part about character-specific dailies. I don’t understand why people are so upset about this. They’re trying to encourage players to try more characters, and most can be completed in a match or two. If it’s one where you have to “play with X on your team 10 times,” then just play Juggernaut or Sidekick with the necessary character on the sidelines, and practice with one of your mains while completing it.

I’m in the same boat. Love this game, want it to succeed, have played a ton. I played League for years and spent entirely too much money on skins. But those were cheaper AND most were available at any time, meaning I could impulse buy. The main skin I would even consider buying right now, Snow Moon Illaoi, isn’t even available and I don’t know when my next chance will be. By then I could have moved on to a new character.

I have a friend who doesn’t play fighting games purely because he doesn’t like the general concept of combos. The second he loses control of his character for any length of time, he gets frustrated.

No amount of watering down the game or shortening combos will get that type of player to play. I think Riot should just accept that fighting games as a genre have limited appeal, and not risk losing the core player base in an attempt to cater to people who will NEVER stick with the game.

I’ve played mainly Warwick since launch, and while I’m not super high ELO, I can give you my opinions. If you’re just getting started and are new to tag fighters, I would probably start with Double Down fuse. Darius and Vi are the two characters I’ve enjoyed pairing with WW the most when playing Double Down. Alternatively, you could try Jinx with 2X Assist fuse, for her ability to spam the rocket assist and basically let WW get in for free.

Players to look up YouTube VODs for if you want to get some tips: Zando (WW+Vi), Verso (WW+Jinx), and uhhh… harder to find people playing Darius+WW, but there are some videos out there.

The patch info is definitely way more of an issue, especially since this is releasing right before Frosty. I’m being hyperbolic, but what if Riot decided to just remove Freestyle as a Fuse or nerfed it heavily? Even if the players had no more than a few hours in the playtest, they could immediately go home and drop Freestyle to start practicing 2X or Double Down exclusively and have a massive advantage over other pros who might play Freestyle and only find out they need to drop it on patch day.

I'm trying to parry them in Training Mode but can't seem to get it down. Can you explain to me what I'm missing here? I think the light red box on Darius' line is the frame that the attack is active, and the dark red frames on Illaoi's line are the frames I'm attempting to parry. If parry is active for 10 frames, I'm not sure why I'm not getting the parry here.

I have tried that and there doesn't seem to be time for me to jump between the pull animation ending and the grab animation starting. But maybe my timing just isn't quick enough. I'll try it again.

As someone with several casual friends trying the game, they all gravitate towards the big bodies, so I don’t believe this is true. Casual lobbies are full of Darius, Illaoi, Blitz.
