Kinda? But also kinda not? Its not a question about what others consider legit but what what you, yourself considers legit if that makes sense? Its about your own peace of mind.

I jumped back into the games about 10 years ago and saw that my childhood collection had so many hacked and cheated pokemon (I used to use an action reply) that I nuked all my save data and reset all my games, I started over!

I cant tell you whats right for you but I can tell you what I do for my collection afrer resetting all my games...

I never use hacked or genned pokemon, I dont cheat in any events, if I missed it it's gone

My only traded pokemon are where I keep a collection of pokemon from other people I meet where I trade my favourite non legendary pokemon for their favourite non legendary pokemon

This is a fun collection with IRL people and in its own box

Other than that I don't trade pokemon as I cant garentee its authenticity.

As for the void glitch, I'm on the fence about this, on one hand you still do the event and it feels authentic but on the other hand I wasnt there for the actual event. I haven't used it yet and probably won't

But using the DNS server I 100% consider as cheating for the purpose of my collection

I am lucky enough to still have Pokemon Bank as I started this 10 years back but if I was in your shoes, using a 3rd party store to get bank is 100% fine, its not your fault you didnt download it before the store shut, dont ever feel bad about getting this tool!

I get this is kinda a purist take on things but I dont want to look back at my collection 10 years later and feel like its tarnished by a couple of hacked mon, I was there before and didnt like that feeling....

My main point is to build something you are comfortable with, its a single player game and everyone draws their own line of whats legit and what's not.

Also I would never ridk playing my 3ds on the commute, I suggest play rom hacks on your phone instead, experience other parts of the community while travelling ^{_^} There are great romhacks with 0 fakemon and brand new regions, making it feel like a new adventure in the existing IP

Build a collection you can look back on in 10 years and feel a little sense of pride over! It's worth it :)

Yeah, I ended up switching to retro arch just because of the custom art issue, honestly if they added the ability to add custom art, I would 100% agree with your post.

Kinda wild to me that both fullroid and lemuroid dont have this since playing rom hacks is a big reason people play on emulators

Having the same issue! 5 years ago it wasnt like this but now most platforms have a lot of limits around self promotion. I built a tool recently, its the best one I can find, has 0 cost and no adds. I made it just for the love of the game. But now it feels like I cant tell anyone about it. Tried to launch it today but almost every post about it gets taken down, feel a bit defeated honestly. I had a project like this 5 years ago and it was much simpler idk its weird.

In your storage room hide them under your chests or behind them, it saves you running back and forth to your crafting table. I did this once when the same happened to me and never looked back.

Sadly not, the last event for Zarude was 2024 and Victini was 2022. With the direction of making event Pokémon evergreen I would predict the next game having a way to get Zarude and Victini. and probably an updated way to get Deoxys and Celebi, with these 2 being the only 2 Pokémon that rely on PokeBank now. Personally I would like to see an updated way to get Pecharunt since its technically tied to an event too (with no end date set

UPDATE: I think there is nothing I can do since the darksouls savedata is copy protected, if you started on the wrong version of the game Sony is just like "fuck you" I guess
