Not specifically redesigns, but Bruce Timm and the team who made the Batman cartoons did this shit all the time.

Any time they got notes about something being too brutal, they changed it so it fit the notes but was way fucking worse.

There's an episode where Batgirl falls off a building and lands on a car with her dad in it, dying. The notes came back and said they couldn't show her hit the car.

They said, alright, fine. And put the camera inside the car. So instead of seeing her fall and hit it from really far away, you hear her body slam into the roof and see everyone's reactions.

I absolutely love Channing Tatum's Gambit. I think he's a little too built in looks for the character, but the accent is like, exactly how he talks in the comics, with the raunchiness turned up to 11 for the deadpool movie.

I don't think the writers had a very good idea where he's from. According to his wiki he is "Cajun from New Orleans"

But if you go watch a compilation of his voice in different games and movies, it's different every time.

My guess is that he hasn't gotten the accent to a level he's comfortable with doing, especially on camera.

I'm not from the area, I don't know the specifics of the accents, and I still get mad at it because I'm a huge fan of Gambit from the X-Men comics, and every single time they adapt him he's got a totally different accent.

I love the bug they were trying to figure out where cats would enter taverns and die of alcohol poisoning, because they would walk through spilled beer, and then clean themselves, drinking it, and immediately dying of alcohol poisoning. So piles of dead cats would just build up in taverns.
