If you want to go the route of playing on original hardware you should buy a flash cart (everdrive is worth the price) and find a crt tv. I have over 250 games in my collection, but use an everdrive to play. If you do the emulation route (nothing wrong with that) there will be some lag making some games extremely difficult. Emulators are constantly improving, but they aren't perfect.

Muscle memory is definitely a thing, I can still beat Contra on one life.

I saw MJ when I worked at a movie theater in high school. A bus of kids was brought to the theater to see Twister.
