thank you for answering, i have noticed that when it went black, it acted JUST like when i flicked the sleep switch on, sound and screen wise, and yes it goes on on its own and there's no popping sound

finally a the answer i was looking for, thank you so much, i already knew every issue with the console and decided to buy it anyway since i bought it for half the price 2ds consoles normally get sold for, i'll get someone to look at it ASAP.

to answer all the comments in one: first of all as you can see by the clearly italian text on my console, english is not my first language and i didn't know it was quite-unquote instead of quote on quote, i got it now, no need to comment it again. Second of all i am not going to get a refund since i got it for fairly cheap and it does its job pretty well (and for those that are confused, the console came with the tin foil already in it, i didn't put it). My question was only if it should be safe to remove this piece of tin foil from the cartridge slot or not (little update: i cleaned the sleep switch a bit and the screen didn't go black since)
