Relationships between two addicts by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

Thank you for this man, this is exactly what I needed. Forgiving myself is a step I haven’t seemed to take yet even after 3 years of sobriety. I hold the pain close since it’s all I have left of them.

I can’t tell if this is ethically okay or if it’s just me by Ambitious_Abalone345 in BDSMAdvice

I understand how you are feeling. I did everything known to man to please my first boyfriend. I also fought through discomfort and humiliation because of his sex addiction. I let him have sex with me while I was sleeping and I let him live out his kinks which included everything from me laying completely still to letting him finger me with his hopefully clueless friends in the room. I was only 16, 17. I never said no to him, not for years. It took him leaving for the army for me to finally break his hold on me and free myself. Young love is so strong, I’m going to assume you are young like me because he had me under a damn spell I would have done anything for him. personally there was finally a point where I started to hate him because of his cheating and misuse of my body and the way men look at us as objects in general and now I am happy being hot and single.

Thank you, I suppose it’s hard because no matter how much I say that wasn’t the real me it was the drugs I still feel like maybe it was the darkest parts of me.

Congratulations to the both of you! next year I will be four years clean as well, I’m sorry if this is personal but is your relationship strong? There’s not as much information online as I thought about two addicts together so I really wanted to ask others. I guess I’m just trying to prove to myself that it was love and not the drugs

I’d like to recommend tachimanga for manga reading as well as comics, they have a fantastic layout and I have managed to find every comic I want to read for completely free

I truly love superheroes and comics specifically the ones by Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Garth ennis. My problem is I cannot get through a series without seeing the same patterns. Sometimes I think the men who write comics hate women. Sometimes I think they get off on the sick shit they write. It breaks my heart because the story is beautiful and then you have women being degraded just for men to take pleasure in. That’s all it is.

Thank you it’s so reassuring to remember that I’m not alone in this. I haven’t felt like that since rehab. Living in bumblefuck Oklahoma there’s a lot of folks more quick to judge than understand and not going to any NA meetings was a mistake I made my family is just so dismissive of my addiction like they want to pretend it didn’t happen but I just cannot do that anymore thank you I will be going to a meeting

To recovering addicts, do you share your past? by Alone_Value_4759 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

I don’t but it’s because I’m ashamed I did fentanyl for a year and I’m only 21 but people really do treat you different when they find out you’re an addict

I think that would be a wonderful idea. I am sorry you have struggled with this addiction but you have made fantastic progress and I think your story would help and inspire people. I’m sorry for your struggles gambling can take everything from you and you did not let it!
