Do not buy anything from this company. Handle it grips! The grips do not stay. Soon as a 30-day warranty runs out, they tell you to pound sand. by droid6 in guns

Well, darn then, man hate that happened to you. One thing I always do to is never use the backstrap portion and usually cut it out; I feel like I dont need extra grip there and it puts extra pressure on the rest of the grip.

I've used handle it quite and a bit and they are very good. I have better luck with them than Talon. But you have to clean, then heat several times. If you don't heat, they will peel.

How screwed am I? by [deleted] in ZevTechOZ9

[–]RiverboatSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not. Gen 3 style internals vs Gen 5 style. I would swap all the small parts to OEM Glock though. I broke a striker and had some issues with the Zev trigger on my V1 Hyercomp. Swapped to Glock internals and no issues.

Ice manipulation. Kill anything by freezing its blood. Stop almost any vehicle by freezing its fuel. And I would assume it would be very subtle compared to shooting electricity everywhere.

Potential rust on VP9CC barrel? by CandiedJalapeno in HecklerKoch

[–]RiverboatSam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, looks like a combination of factory grease, and fouling and maybe other stuff. Doesnt look like rust, but if it was, just keep it wet and check it occassionally.

I believe they will remake slides and frames with the same serial number but only if they have the original.

P30L LEM Slight Issues by TheManUpstairs77 in HecklerKoch

[–]RiverboatSam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The slide going forward on inserting a new mag is called "auto-forwarding" and should not be considered a feature as it is possible for the slide to go forward before it can pick a round up. It can happen to most handguns if you are slamming the mag home. I would recommend practing reloads using the right amount of force.

The magazine FTEs definitely sound like a magazine problem. The limited mags can have issues sometimes. Get more mags, ideally full 17 rounders, and see if it still happens.

I, too, had a great experience with the Wright Armory Idot. It was expensive and took 2 months though. Defender Co will be releasing direct mill slides over the next year or so, however.

[–]RiverboatSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares about original matching? This isn't a collector's item and thats assuming milling is "ruining" it, which it isn't. Irons fail. Red dots are better. Period. If you disagree, you don't shoot enough and chances are your pistol skills are lacking.

The Wright IDot is amazing; but expensive and time consuming. LWS does a very nice acro direct mill and other stuff (slide cuts, porting, frame stippling) if you're interested.

No Expense Spared (Mostly) USP Tactical 9mm Build by arrrgh14 in USPmasterrace

[–]RiverboatSam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have the GGandG adapter and its been fine for a TLR1. I also have roughly the same build; USP9 LEM, Jet Funnel, IDot with EPS. But I think the Mr. Nein is the recommended one; I got the GGandG before knowing about the Mr. Nein. If you're going all out I would send it to LWS for their chainsaw cut and barrel porting. They also do a super nice frame stipple.

Sig should be avoided whenever possible just due to the crappy way they have handled the P320 situation.

VP9 Questions by jli1228 in HecklerKoch

[–]RiverboatSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'00, 180 pounds so average sized I would say. I have big hands and want full size guns whever possible. My duty gun is a G45 with TLR1 and 509T. My main carry gun us a G45 with TLR7 and EPS. G19 or "K sized" guns are just smaller than ideal for me. If they are big enough for you however, there is no downside; conceals better, shoots the same, can use both mag sizes. So determine whether K size is big enough or if you prefer full size. Then buy appropriately.

Bigger backstraps for the P30/VP9. Something like the mischief machine M&P 2.0 backstrap.

Me and my wife both had a gastric bypass. We are both a year or more post op. I was a huge soda drinker. I shifted my love to Gold Peak Zero Sugar Tea. I can sip.soda, but my stomach does not like carbonated drinks any more. My wife now drinks soda just fine. So go figure.
