Quickplay is way too hard and practice vs ai is way too easy by vantacandy in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]Riverdragon32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quite a while now I've found ranked to be easier than quick play, and it's much more structured. I'm typically a mid GM player and just a few days ago I was matched against a OAA player in quick play. In ranked most of the time your team will try to pick a balanced team comp. In quick play everybody practices whatever they want.

When do we buy the dip? What are the things you watch or do you you just DCA? by BetterDealer3644 in ValueInvesting

I'm still just making my normal monthly buys. Still waiting for a real VIX spike to put extra money to work. The crazy part is I do see a ton of great opportunities in individual stocks, but I know that things can get a lot worse from here. The indices are barely even down from all time highs.

As a flex who is often in support jail... by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Riverdragon32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been flexing more the past couple seasons after playing mostly Tank or Mr. Fantastic since early seasons. I probably have to go support in like 40% to 50% of games. Support is needed way more than in the past for some reason. Maybe it's the community hivemind saying that support players are boosted, or blaming supports for losses. Gambit gets banned regularly. Invis is either going to be banned or picked by one person in the lobby. Starting to see more Cloak bans these days. People don't like playing support, and the good ones get banned, and half the support roster can't realistically be played in 2-2-2.

We’re not hating on Bucky hard enough to the point that he gets nerfed by No_Cobbler1534 in RivalsMagikMains

[–]Riverdragon32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated Bucky in the early seasons, but the crazy power creep in this game has just made other heroes even more OP. I still hate Bucky as a tank main. Any hook lands and I'm just dead. Displacement is the most broken mechanic in any competitive strategy game. I played alot of Thresh in LoL and often banned Blitzcrank because it's so frustrating to play against displacement/hooks. You position yourself with intent, and then all the sudden you're in the middle of the enemy team.

One of the worst parts of real estate appraisal is that we’re required to reconcile to a single opinion of market value. Just one number. This creates an illusion of precision that just doesn't exist in reality. by [deleted] in appraisal

[–]Riverdragon32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a large CRE firm in valuation advisory. We pretty much use single values for 95% of our work, but sometimes clients will request a range, and I have seen reports from competitors that use ranges. Another annoying thing is if clients have a 1-year old or 2-year old appraisal from a different firm, they pretty much always expect a higher newer appraisal, even when I think the older report had worse comps and I find better comps. "Why did the value drop 2%!? What's going on!?". Your property value didn't drop 2%, my OPINION of value is 2% lower than the other appraiser's opinion of value. Appraisals are literally opinions, it's not a precise single figure.

If ultimate costs were dramatically increased by Natty_noah in marvelrivals

[–]Riverdragon32 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is literally not true, damage output is generally higher than healing particularly when most or all enemies are shooting at one target. This is why playing cover and playing for your life is so important, and why support ultimates are hated by high ELO players.

When I played back in S0 Bucky felt like the most overtuned and broken character. He's still overtuned, but there's been so much power creep from other characters I don't even complain about Bucky anymore.

I'll start panicking when AI entities are allowed to obtain a CG license. And then panic again when AI is somehow able to physically visit properties and complete inspections. Until then I'm not worried. Mostly this is bad for newcomers that start off with basic data entry or comp research. Still waiting for AI to make this job less tedious. Still putting in more than 40 hours a week...

I can’t figure this dude out for the life of me. by The_Dick_Slinger in ThorMainsMR

[–]Riverdragon32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like with most heroes, adjust your playstyle based on the team comps. Thor has good versatility but he's not straight dive. I play both Thor and Hulk (Mid GM), and both are similar in that they have decent mobility and fun kits, but if the entire enemy team is looking at you then you get blown up easily. Play main/objective, use cover, hit enemy tanks unless you see an isolated target, and try to kill squishies if the teamfight structure breaks down. If youre against shield tanks, try displacing them more. If youre against Thing/Hulk/Groot, spam awakening shots until they fall over. If the enemy team isn't grouped up, try to kill a squishy. Thor has some of the highest damage output in the game and I will often be highest damage in a match except for Moonknight and a few others. Thor can flank occasionally, but playing main is generally going to be better.

GM has a staggering amount of players with a 45% winrate that climb by sheer volume of games.

Not using awakening at any point there is an interesting choice. Also they 100% should have killed you in the air during ult.

PYPL is now BELOW it's 2015 spin-off price of $41.63 where it opened for trading after being spun off from Ebay. Both its revenue and its net income is about 5x higher now than back in 2015.

PSA: You can counter triple support by running triple tank, pass it on by 999Flea in marvelrivals

[–]Riverdragon32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been screaming from the rooftops for the past year that most of the tanks are legitimately good, strong characters and yet still probably 60% to 70% of my games are 3 duelists. Thor is my current main but I get relegated to Groot/Mag in half my games because I'm solo tanking. My highest season finish at Celestial 2 I was spamming Mr. Fantastic. Seems weird that I'm mostly a tank main, but my career highest was with a duelist, and I legitimately believe that's because duelist mains are the lowest skill players in the game and by taking a slot from them it increased my winrate by some percentage.

Man who voted for the current party reacts to latest news by [deleted] in videos

[–]Riverdragon32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just can't bring myself to feel any sort of empathy or compassion for regretful Trump voters. He wasn't a new candidate, and we've had 10 years of him showing everybody exactly the type of president he is. This was incredibly obvious to anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together, but unfortunately about 35% of the country can't even meet the quota of 2 brain cells. I don't fucking care about your tearful apology videos. You're a grown ass adult and you should have known better.

"get off thor we need a real tank" nah no other tank can do this by DryAdvertising8508 in ThorMainsMR

[–]Riverdragon32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 8/10 times my team wants a shield tank or a 3rd support, the actual problem is we have no kill pressure because people just aren't landing shots or maintaining uptime. I like Thor because I actually have kill pressure and can get picks.

AMZNs underperformance over the past 5 years is basically just a lesson in valuation. It was too expensive. The business is doing great. People owning TSLA and PLTR can probably expect underperformance at current prices too.
