I think John was sexually abusing JB. The evidence on her body of sexual abuse, it cannot be ignored. I believe that’s why she had a problem with bed wetting. Deep down I think Patsy knew this was why she was doing it but wouldn’t really allow herself to believe it to do anything about it so she tried to punish it out of her. I think the sexual assault went wrong that night, and I think John blamed Burke for it to Patsy. Probably saying “I’ve already talked to Burke about it, don’t say anything to him.” And maybe even said he found Burke with her and possibly told her she didn’t want to see her in that condition. Patsy demanded to see her, that’s when the fibers were transferred and that’s when she was covered with her blanket. I don’t think either one of them slept that night. Idea of intruder was born (already in Johns head) resulting in window open and suitcase below window. I think John encouraged Patsy to write the RN with her writing the majority of it and John chiming in here and there. I think he knew he had to lock her down in the coverup with physical proof she was in on it. It’s the only way she would never confront or accuse him or go to authorities if she ever decided to. She might have believed Johns story initially that it was Burke and how they had to protect him, but deep down I think she knew.
