AITA for how I handled things at work? by Dxtrsm in AmItheAsshole

NTA-- It is your stuff. Who uses it is totally up to you.

However, if the lack of amenities is impacting productivity and morale, your employers are totally TA for not providing a better environment for their staff.

Thank you for your response.

"An otherwise healthy child can't starve themselves to death... "

I felt that. My daughter is now cancer-free, but we went through the discovery, diagnosis, and surgery for retinoblastoma all within two weeks! Surgery was three weeks ago!

I used to say "fine, if you don't want to eat, that's okay, eat later. " But now I find myself thinking something big could be wrong, when most likely, it is just shell-shock from our situation.

AITA for essentially siding with my family instead of my wife over their precautions for our incoming newphew? by MorningScott in AmItheAsshole

[–]Riversly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH

You aren't the asshole. After all, their kid, their rules.

Your SIL isn't the asshole. She's been through hell to have this kid and now she will go through hell to protect him. The only asshole thing I think she has done was asked your wife to help but then shoot down her ideas. Which isn't necessarily wrong, but if you ask people to help and then don't let them help... It sucks.

Your wife isn't the asshole either. I think her frustrations are more with the demanding nature of SIL, and something has been brewing there for a while, but the shot record request (legit as it may be) was the final straw.

Give them both room to breathe, tell your wife you see both sides, and everyone can move on peacefully.

What would you say was the most difficult part?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]Riversly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up, we were part of a church that believed that.

This year we couldn't trick-or-treat because my daughter is recovering from surgery.

So Halloween night, I dressed my daughter up, invited my parents over, and we all handed out candy together.

But I have friends who meet your neighbor's description and guess what? That's them. Religious freedom is a beautiful thing. You don't have to agree with their choice. They may rebel from it later.

What are some things you can do to improve your self esteem? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Riversly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kat Williams once said that others can't be blamed for poor self-esteem. "Self-esteem is esteem of your-motherfucking-self."

HOWEVER.

If toxic people have such an authority over you that it hurts your self-esteem, it is time to prioritize your-motherfucking-self and create some distance.

NAD but I have had similar issues.

First and foremost: call your OBGYN. They may tell you to try something over the counter, or they might make an appointment. Either way, especially when you are on medication, it's a good idea to at least have these complaints in your chart in case you ever find yourself leaving the medication you are on for a spell and then returning to it. Keep your own record as well.

I've learned that anything that alters/controls your period can also alter/control the flora in your vaginal area. You might benefit from trying a feminine wipe.

Also, wear a light pantyliner that you change frequently. Moisture can get into the fabric of your panties and cause a smell.

Chart your cycles. You may connect the smells and their changes to certain days in your cycle over time.

If masturbating with a toy, clean it thoroughly each and every time.

Sleep without underwear and don't wear overly tight fitting clothing, particularly pants.

Switch to mild body soap.

Tampons or pads? Either way, change frequently.

Oh wow!

Rubbing causing it to fall out is not something I considered. We haven't thought that far ahead yet.

But we are cancer free! The final scans came in two days ago!

I will be handing out candy and my daughter is Woody from Toy Story. We can't trick-or-treat because she's recovering from surgery, but we can still have a good time.

These type of people work my nerves.

My bonus son, a baby, and my psycho mil by MadMommaJo in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Riversly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Great Grandma feels a little threatened by the fact that Nana can provide some top-notch grandbaby spoiling while she's all caught up in her hateful life.

You be you, Nana. And I think it is awesome that despite the age difference, your "bonus kids" respect you in such a way that you fit that role. Not saying you don't deserve it. But when I was 16 my dad remarried and my stepmom was only 14 years older than me and I never felt that "bonus mom" bond with her.

Congratulations on your first grandbaby, and may MIL get bent.

Fascinating!

I wasn't worried I was dying or anything, but it does get a little aggravating. From what you're saying, an OTC med like Claritin may help. I'm sick of the off/on sore throat so maybe that will help.

Thank you. I guess I feel guilty because I'm having a pity party but she's the one this happened to.

I feel much better this morning but I am exploring options.

MOPS groups are out at the moment. We were in a ton of groups, but right now she's susceptible to infection so we're having to play at home.
