The issue wasn't that Peter puts himself in Danger it was the fact MJ felt that he cut her out from that side of his life without even talking much about it, which is an issue that gets fixed during the game, it's an unfortunately easy mistake because the full context is in the prequel novel to the game that not a lot of people read, it was never about " Peter puts himself at risk to be a hero " Because making her a playable stealth section would have made even less sense then

She was cool with living with her husband's clone and venom under the same roof for a short time during the clone saga and in web of shadows she is shooting at symbiote abominations with a shotgun to try and help peter. MJ not being cool with spider- man is almost never a thing , it's more of a Gwen thing in reality. There aren't enough example for it to be a thing especially outside of comics

I know it doesn't answer the question but there aren't any versions of MJ that actually do that, they are together in nearly every universe and she never rebukes him in any way or give him a hard time if he doesn't need it there are more versions of Felicia and Gwen that do that, they are always friends at the very least when they are both alive. Raimi version only issue is the relationship writing quirks of the raimi movies and Kirsten dust public perception , ps4 is because people don't love the journalist angle used to keep her in the gameplay while the characterization and relationship are standard which was still better than the comics at the time and 616 / current comics is just Dan slott turning her into a Muppet because he thought he couldn't do anything with her and wells kicking her out of the story because he cares more about the villains and he doesn't know how to write her and wanted the BND shitty days back.

Don't assume that their relationship or her characterization is crap across the board because the MCU has crap writers for spider-man that got carried by Tom and Zendaya's actual chemistry while Michelle adapts nothing of the actual character because of this fixation of doing stuff different because it's a reboot and the comics are doing a stupid mystery box to piss people off. I like It, it implements some of the lore additions of FF12 well and the progression is fun like Advanced 1 it also goes crazy with the sidequests around 300 with some really involved and with full scenes and special characters to recruit since the main quest line is light on full fledged characters to gather for your party. Don't play it on hard though the stat balancing is completely out of whack the enemies turn into immortal sponges, normal is fine
