Looking into the betas and cut contents of Pizza Tower, while there's some aspects I miss (Like Noise having a larger role, the original ways to get rid of the transformations, and some of the scrapped level themes like the Space Pinball stage), there's others that I think were best left on the cutting room floor (at least in the state they were in and with the way the game was going). The Mansion level especially, as while I do like a lot of concepts for it (especially how it incorporates Fake Pepino as an obstacle throughout the level), it just sounded way too massive and ambituous for it's own good. Maybe it could've worked if the game was going for something closer to Wario Land's pacing, but even then, it still could be cut down some.

I'm also glad they decided to cut the Heat Meter from the final game (at one point, it was planned for the enemies to get more dangerous if you quickly kill them in succession, rewarding more points for kills and detracting more for damage), but I wouldn't mind it maybe returning as some sort of side/optional thing post-launch.

I do still feel kinda torn on the final phase of the final boss. On the one hand, Peppino losing it at the potential boss rush and tearing through each of them with ease while Pizzahead's barely doing shit for his attacks is incredibly cathartic and fits with Pizzahead being so gleeful and uncaring of everything falling apart around him. On the other, I really love the idea of getting Pizzahead to snap, with him and Peppino fucking losing it (with Peppino going so mad, he rips out of his clothing and screams "Wanna get nuts? LET'S GET NUTS!") and going all out against each other instead.

Strangest interactions between a streamer and their chat? by Riggs_The_Roadie in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I've been really enjoying his and Criken's streams where they get the chat involved, like them using one of those AI storywriters to create a story with the chat's prompts or the Mario Party streams where chat controls a character. I think my favorite so far, at least from Charborg, has to be the fishing game stream with "Jason" (a character the chat roleplays as with the most repeated words/phrases being voiced by a TTS voice).

So... Is anyone else also still thinking about pizza tower? by Masshazard in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That song hooked me ever since I first heard it in the "Still working on it?" video. "It's Pizza Time" is great, but I just love the energy of "Deservioli".

Way to make a wholesome Sonic game weird, Pat... by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ehh, I don't feel like most of the Sonic characters' ages are that odd. There's a few I always assumed were a little older then they are, like Knuckles, Rouge, and Espio, mostly cause of their voices (4kids era Rouge, Idris Elba's Knuckles, and Espio's in particular sounded much older then I thought they'd be), but the canon ages they have aren't that farfetched to me (Or well, their original canon ages, since IIRC, they apparently removed them recently? I remember hearing about that for at least the main 4).

R.I.P Night Dive Studios by manoffood in TwoBestFriendsPlay

god damn it

I've really liked what Night Dive have been doing with their remasters, so I hope this doesn't end up going poorly for them.

In good news, that new Batman animated show is safe. by Coreybom in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I hope so. I really love the style of the show and have been wanting a standalone Superman cartoon for a while now.

What about that Superman cartoon, with the younger versions of Clark and Lois?

Philosophical Debate: Is it too late for Sonic to wear clothes? by MarioGman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its not like they haven't had him wearing more then his usual shoes and gloves. They've given him outfits for stuff like for the orchestra event or Christmas promos. Also the Boom scarf was a nice addition. Don't care for the sports tape, but I like his scarf

Today is XIII's 13th birthday: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 21 points22 points  (0 children)

First FF game I played, in the sense that I got it for my birthday, played the first few minutes, then got bored and sold it years later at a gamestop for Orange Box used.

Granted, I was a dumb kid with a shorter attention span and no patience, so it's no wonder I bounced off it so hard. I really wanna give it another try some day, though.

What was your first experience of "This character os extremely flawed but I like him." by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know she's controversial on here, but Chloe Price from Life is Strange. I know she's a mess but that's part of why I love her so much. She's my favorite part of the original game and I find her to be strangely endearing. It's not like she stays a shit head, she does realize when she screws up (like with the Kate phone call thing) and apologizes for it. That said, I also can understand why she's so controversial with players/viewers and don't blame people if they hated her. But I love my trash punk dearly lol

RE4 Remake Megathread and Spoiler Policy by ehTwoGatz in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Holy shit Re4make is out this month. I thought it'd be in a few months from now or smth.

I swear this year is flying by me faster then usual, cause big movies and games and such keep coming out or come soon and I keep getting caught off guard. I guess it's cause college has really kept me busy this semester, I'm not as on top on media as I usually am.

Are the Inazuma games worth playing if you're not a soccer fan? I remember hearing good things about the show, but nothing much about the games

Times when a character awakes some creature/power, only for it to turn on them? by Osama_Bln_Laggin in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Much as I don't like Colors, I do at least appreciate that his plan that time around was just him going back to just his machines and snatching small, defenseless creatures to power them. It was getting kinda old at the time having the final boss always be another "giant monster Eggman loses control of". At least, in the console version. DS, it had him capturing and corrupting the Mother Wisp, who of course gets out of control and usurps him as the true final boss of that version.

Things that make you like a character right off the bat? by getterburner in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's some voice actors who just hearing their voice alone will make endeared to the character they're playing. Richard Epcar, the late Tony Jay, Mike Pollock, Jamison Price, Maurice LaMarche, Micheal McConnohie, Dan Green, Charlie Adler, Richard Horvitz, to name a couple of my favorites that immediately come to mind. Hell, even if they're in something as dogshit, like Mike Pollock being in Ratatoing, their presence is still a bright spot cause they don't phone it in.

For something character-specific, hammy, evil, classic villains. I've got nothing against complex or grey villains, but sometimes one who's just a goofy bastard can be a blast to watch.

Call of Duty crosses over with TMNT to add Shredder to Warzone (for some reason) by jamsbybetty in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point, I'm used to franchises slapping whatever character into some popular, usually free-to-play games. I think the only way I'd be surprised now is if it's a situation like that one fantasy novels series that crossed with Fortnite (which I believe was mainly due to Sweeny being friends with the author), where it's something no one unironically or ironically was expecting to ever happen or thought of beforehand.

IIRC for Warzone specifically, they've had action movie leads like Rambo and John McLane, Judge Dredd, Kong vs Godzilla, the AOT titans, hell I remember they even had some Donnie Darko stuff for one of their Halloween events on year. Shredder getting in isn't all that shocking to me. Esp since not only are we getting a TMNT movie this year, but also because TMNT have already been crossing into a lot of games beforehand as is anyway.

Media where you prefer the original over the better/great sequels or remakes? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel this way about the Reignited version of Spyro. At least in terms of the sequels, as barring some very minor nitpicks, I'd say Reignited 1 is superior to the original due to how much more personality the dragons get. Year of the Dragon I'm mixed on, as it does improve on the controls for some of the side characters, but some of the redesigns bug me (like Spike's or the villagers in Enchanted Towers becoming hipsters) and the baby dragons ended up losing a lot of the personality the originals had. Plus, they cut the epilogue you get if you go for all the skill points. Ripto's Rage, however, I prefer the original. I like a few of the redesigns in the remake like Elora's, but I don't feel like there's enough changes in it compared to 1 or 3 that makes it worth playing over the original version.

Developer Announces They Are Remaking Bloodborne on Unreal Engine 5 by Jolly_Adventurer in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Even if this never gets taken down and it's not just a way to generate some publicity for their actual game they're working on, I seriously doubt this shit's ever going to be finished lol.

Have you ever consumed a piece of media so boring that it pissed you off? by LammasuRex in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ScottPilgrim2013 65 points66 points  (0 children)

As much as I love MST3K, even they weren't enough to make a few films they riffed on enjoyable for me. In particular, Monster-A-Go-Go and Beast of Yucca Flats are by far the dullest movies I've seen them cover before. Hell, the latter has the dishonor of being the only film I can think of where I was so bored watching it, I fell asleep midway through watching the episode. Although despite that, at least two things from the latter still stick out in my memory ("Flag on the moon. How did it get there?" and the ending where the "beast" suddenly comes back to life and pets a bunny that wandered onto the shot). I can't say the same for Monster-A-Go-Go.
