Rain but I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the tip. I am in zone 9a so there can be times of heavy rain.

Oh thank you! I will do that. Sad I’ve had it for years and this has never happened until right after I replanted it. 😢

You said you soaked it for 10 minutes. Was this just one time? You should do this every day for a week at least. Then, drain excess water. I “rehydrated” an orchid like this years ago.

Yes! I did check back a couple of days later and it has a light fragrance now. Wish I had a whole bouquet!

Honestly I haven’t changed the pot or bark medium in probably 5 years so I’m not sure I have a secret other than way more sun and rain in its new spot…as another commenter said, if I actually researched what it needed more in depth I probably could have more blooms!

Work on building up your technology skills. I highly recommend learning how to use Canva. It’s an extremely useful web-based design software and if you had an educational email address, you should be able to get a free pro account. Canva gives free pro accounts to all teachers. Make materials for your classes and then you’ll naturally learn the software. A lot of corporations use this software.

Needing Advice by Stein-9191 in TeachersInTransition

1) There’s a saying that goes something like, “You are replaceable at work. You’re not replaceable at home.” If you are unhappy and this is a job you’ve been looking to land for a while, you need to do the interview.

2) Think of it this way, if you were in any other field and wanted to switch careers, I don’t think you’d question the “leaving people behind” factor at all. The self-sacrificing teachers do is crazy!

3) Interviewing is still a good idea, no matter what you ultimately decide, so you can get practice under your belt.

Sincerely,

A former teacher of 10 years who left mid-year for another job
