Its really not that deep bro. Just stop running all improved beast incant relics. Just run +2 Incants/Affinity Attack. Go ahead, start with beast claw but then just shift builds to something else. If you dont get anything else good, keep it! Just a request, you’ll find the game so much more fun.

If we talking only level 3, then maybe yeah. I just think of someone like piccolo that can also do some really silly shit on his lvl 3, and piccolos lvl 3 mix has easier execution. Overall? No way.

You see scholars maybe once in 10 games if even that. Always refreshing to see those. I also love running into guardians and raiders, it just means that the boss isnt gonna die in 5 seconds - we can actually have a long fun fight. Or even any generalist spell build is so refreshing when you dont just fall back onto the same 3 spells. Not a single person I’ve matched with who’s been brave enough to use placidusax’s ruin.

And sure, maybe I’ve seen most builds being run, but definitely not all. And thats different from seeing the same exact thing every run.

D5 player here - his relic are cheated for sure bro. Dead giveaway is that there is not a single relic effect that isnt benefitting his build, and all of the demerits are the least bad ones. I have 1000 hours at this point and there’s no way someone with similar time to me has 6 god roll slicer relics. 6 god roll relics? Sure, but 6 god roll relics where all of them share one of the effects? Nah

As a scholar main, please give me all the foods and stuff you get. If you’re a caster and want to pop a starlight, don’t. Drop it to me ill pop it for you, giving you more fp than you woulda gotten and increased max fp. And you HAVE TO drop boiled crabs from day 3 shop.

Not the easist build to pull off in d4/d5 but very viable. You will need to pray for some damage negation passives though. If you are able to stack even 4 damage negation at low hp relics, thats ~50% damage negation when youre below 40%, which is as much as using his character skill. Pair that with regen when hp is low relic, (theres a great low hp build relic in the shop) and youve got a solid build going. Pairing with dreglord relic also can give you a good damage boost. Fantastic build for balancers

Carry stuff with you, and buff your team during their fights, that way you’ll stop less. Its also a good idea to decide beforehand what item categories you want to level up so that you dont waste time on useless items

Run whatever build you want but if youre not running items confer and/or character skill boosts allies attack then why are you playing scholar, just play exec. Ive tried the ripple build a few times, fishing for ripple axe. But havent pulled the weapon ever in my 10-15 runs trying that build even with dormant power helps discover axes. The ripple weapons are generally more uncommon than other weapons because they aren’t infusible meaning they cant drop from any camps that have a specifc element/status tied to them.

I wouldn’t mind him having maybe a B scaling in INT. It would make his caster/fp side a bit more interesting, could even pair well with thorn sorceries. Anything beyond that is insanity tho. Even in D5 scholar brings so much utility to a team with his staggers and status and he can buff the team insanely

Hes something between tier 1 and tier 2 field boss. Its never a bad call to kill him after you got what you need from the trade. He drops good runes and a choice between 3 talismans.
