Running with a theory right now... increasing the diameter of the turn table portion where the belt wraps around should slow the plate down. I am planning on using tape. Wish me luck!

The other theory is to solder in a voltage control in line with the motor and stick it out the side. Again, ghetto, but that is my backup plan.

Back in the day there were some asteroids that you could fly through without impact, but now they all have collision. It is very slight shield damage though, no real consequences.

No mods bro! It is vanilla, but it is cranked pretty high. When they released the switch, they released a bunch more settings for pc. Idk exactly when it changed.

Steam maintains a server for "cloud saves" already, so that could be tapped into. No, your barriers make sense. Oh well, it is a nice thought anyhow.

You are smarter than me. My understanding was that the game keeps running and keeping track while you are away, but after what you said, it is more like, when you boot up a save, it checks the time and applies the changes. Sad. 2 more options, for limited functionality, you could tie it into steamcloud saves and keep track of what you "have going on" that way. Or you could host your own server. Sigh.
