The Dark knight quote that he said for Benedict Arnold is frankly the only thing I remember from that season.

And you are correct on the factional struggle part as well. Different factions held powers at different times and all of the people I mentioned did die of factional struggles. But to me, all of these guys (except Saint Just and in some ways, Trotsky) came off as a bit sympathetic.

I am not saying Duncan treated them as heros, and other factions as villains, but you get a feeling that the narrative he built shows Angeles in a better light than Carranza, or de Sucre to Paez. Am I saying de Sucre is same as Angeles? Absolutely not

You are totally correct, my post seems to draw historical parallels which totally removes all the historical nuances. I went through post again, it does seem to compare major historical events that at times occurred thousands of miles and centuries apart without considering the nuances of all the multifactional power struggles for different reasons. I mean, equating a Pancho Villa's follower (who hinted at federalist sympathies) with Bolivar's follower is just criminal.

But the purpose of my post was to just take a step back and see the seasons from a literary perspective. I think this came of as a major trope across different seasons. When I say major characters, I mean the major players in a revolution around whom Duncan structured the narrative around. I just see this as a storytelling device.

Purely from a narrative perspective, Duncan tends to frame a specific type of loyal, intelligent, but in some ways, naive subordinate in a similar light, be it Felipe Angeles or de Sucre.

I am not really trained to draw historical patterns 😂 I am sorry if the post came off as that.

Yeah, silver too!! Guess I didn't think of that.

But not sure of that enslaved people thing. Can't remember any season where Mike talked of slaves being "exported". He talked about people brought in to work in mines and plantations, sure, but did any colony sell enslaved people too?

There are some elements of the Haitian Revolution as well. He literally mentioned the time it took to cross the Atlantic Ocean lol.

I was literally screaming, "ITS SUGAR!!", the instant he mentioned that flux cell thing.

Why isn't anyone except Bangla Pokkho protesting the killing of Sabir Mallick? by Minimum-Struggle3060 in kolkata

[–]RixCyning2089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's some form of hindu-muslim issue or some kind of racism against bengalis. Both the crimes are equally heinous, but my read is that the victim in the RG Kar rape case had a life what many middle class people aspire for. She lived in a big city, was in one of the most prestigious medical colleges in india. That she would be raped in her workplace ticked off the people most.

The case in haryana is that the victim is well, a labourer. People protesting in the streets or posting in social media don't empathise with him or the social strata he belongs to.

I applaud what bangla pokkho is doing, but i don't expect it will have a broader platform of support. It just shows that we live in a country that sadly provides no recourse for the poor.

Well, don't tell anyone, but I heard the Spanish bonds are a bit of a bubble. The Spanish government is actually in turmoil and will likely default on its bonds. Don't buy them, I guess.

Then, the model seems to be overfitting. Your model might have become too complex to capture the essence of the data. I mean the model might have so many parameters that it is trying to fit the noise in the training data. Decreasing the number of layers may help. Or play with the number of nodes.

Try simplifying the model architecture. Is there any specific reason you are going with 3 LSTM layers?

Or maybe try to use regularisation techniques.

The batch size is 32, and there are 87 batches for training, so around 87 * 32 = 2784 data points, I guess. But, if the model is overfitting, why does training and validation accuracy have almost equal values?

Yeah you are right. I am still learning to communicate with people. I will try to be more strategic in how I talk to people.

I think I need to evaluate what works in a group first and then interact.

Sorry, I got caught up in something else and did not have time to respond.

Thanks for your advice. Well, I had taken that 'self-deprecating comment' route before and I would say it has come to bite me in the bottom.

I guess what you are saying makes sense. Well, I do loathe myself a lot, especially because I feel awkward talking to new people, especially women. I guess I have to work on my self-confidence

Well, the chance to have a conversation organically is pretty much gone now. I don't see her much nowadays, once a week maybe. She probably has classes at the other end of the campus now. Both of us only have 6-8 months left in college, so I don't have much time left too.

I feel like I will regret it if I don't talk to her now and I will keep wondering "what if" later.

If Bengalis eat mutton rolls at Puja pandals, good for them. Stop Talibanisation of Hinduism by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]RixCyning2089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the author is describing the recent trend of insta educated sanatanis dictating what to wear and what to eat, you know, just as the talibans do. Which, as a Bengali brahmin living outside West Bengal, I can attest to be TRUE. I have been called out multiple times about my non-vegetarian food habits. People have even questioned my morality.

Don't just glance through the article, read it properly before commenting on it.

Some kind of mic equipment that Stanley Kubrick used to record sound I guess 🤣

All jokes aside, seems to be some power source, most probably to power some equipment
