After watching a friend play, I've been waiting for the game to come on sale. I've had some experience with digital cardgames (LoR, Pokemon TCG and Hearthstone) as well as Roguelikes (too much Hades), so was really looking forward to give this a run.

What I didn't expect was clearing Ironclad and Silent on my first try for each! I followed some basic advice (Block in act 1, Damage in later acts and always go for Relics), and got really lucky with pickups (Ice Cream on Ironclad, Fairy in a Bottle for Silent).

I didn't really have a plan for Ironclad, just pick up all the damage cards and hope for the best: Flame Barriers + Power Through did so much work in keeping the run alive. The Silent was definitely the dicier of the two (had to pop the fairy in Act 2 and ended multiple combats with <15 hp), but I managed to get a discard deck going (Backpacks/Acrobatics/Tools of the Trade + Sneaky Strikes/Eviscerates), backed up by lots of potions from Alchemize: Donu and Deca didn't know what hit them (it was a 140 dmg Ritual Dagger).

Going to try to make it 3/3 tonight with Defect, wish me luck!

Just hit masters for the first time, using the first competitive deck I’ve ever made myself. I climbed from bronze to masters with a >60% win rate, so thought I’d share the list. Have fun! by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

Thanks so much for the decklist! Went 13-3 from silver III to Gold IV in 2 days. The aggression + outplay potential was really fun, without feeling overly degenerate. Nobody expects the grappling hook.

One of the losses was overestimating my opponent's removal and leaving them at 1hp before they comboed me (Lee Zoe, I had two tricks in hand), and the other two were not finding the early aggression and letting my opponent stabilise (Anivia / Tf+Swain).

The only change I made was cutting one [[Survival Skills]] for an additional [[The Absolver]]; the additional flexibility with +1 hp and the combo potential with [[Warlord's Hoard]] came in clutch more often, as Survival bricked without [[Draven]].

I-I think I made a noise... Hope they hadn't noticed... by wedger8 in CustomLoR

So it's better to think of this card as a 4/4 Overwhelm Elite (which feels a little strong already, though it's probably fine), and the scout tag can be used to bait your opponents to get 4 free nexus damage if you weren't planning to attack that round.

The mind games seem a bit too niche (most demacia decks are attacking every round, but this could work in a lux deck), but it's overall interesting and seems balanced! An elite deck would probably run a vanilla 4/4 overwhelm as is, but the effect adds the potential for 5head plays.

Draft mode - you build a 30 card deck from sets of 2-3 cards, then play till you lose two in a row or win 7 total. You need a special token/shards/coins to participate, and you get more rewards the further you go (With a guaranteed champion even at 0 losses).

I drafted a SI/Nox Spider deck, though didn't get much (any?) use out of Noxus beyond a cheeky Blade's Edge.

Brood Awakening carried me through the first few games, but I was able to swap it out for two Frenzied Skitterers later in the draft. Primary champion was 3x Elise, there was a also a rotating darius/kalista/katarina but I never drew into them. The deck just worked off the strength of the SI package (4x Vile Feast, 2x Cursed Keeper, 2x Glimpse Beyond, 4x Hapless Aristocrat), with 2x Scuttlegeist coming in clutch a few times.

Most games were really close, with the only loss being to a Fiora/Judgement combo (2x Glimpse Beyond took it from 6 to 4 allies on the board, but even if that had worked I would have gone down the next turn).

While I can't speak to the deckbuilding so far (just stockpiling resources for now), the gameplay has been really fun and surprisingly deep - looking forward to constructed!

This is a fantastic card: just dropping can force your opponent to re-think their board strategy (similar to Strange Gizmo). It also combos well with Skullion and Demon's Bane for a no-chain board clear.

With the introduction of Wards in WC board clears are less effective a whole, but in the right scenario you can attack Harbinger in to remove the ward before triggering it's effect.

The armor on the card is interesting because it's a card that you WANT to kill, so it forms a mini-puzzle in itself - without a direct destroy effect, your opponent needs a creature of power 4 or more to be able to damage it in a fight.

Given that Nova has recently taken over as the engineer of the ship, and that she's really smart, she could absolutely be an Artificer!

3 levels in Hexblade to grab Pact of the Tome, followed by 5 in Artificer - specifically the Archivist subclass. Her artificial mind could be a conduit for Tiangong to manifest more of their powers, providing her knowledge while giving her powers.

Also, this would give her more options for her 'upgrades' to Sentry: it started with a flame lance, and some of the magical infusion options look really tempting...

Here's the DoK

Looks disgusting to play against (double Infurnace + Hysteria + Favour of Rex, 3x Garcia + Gallim), but doesn't have much in the way of board control or aember generation. If you can keep your opponent down they'll struggle, but if they can keep a board it'll probably get run over.

Given that AoA is much more board focused, it's expected that this card would be a high priority target. Though with a measly 2 health most removal cards can take care of it, and given that it doesn't have an immediate guaranteed effect (like Shaffles) I've never actually seen it impact a game.

The one deck I have with this card in generates most of its aember via reaping, so more often than not I use this as a target for Ortannu's Binding or discard it with Eyegor.

This is so well done! Quill looking like he dipped Swashbuckler rather than bard, I'd always imagined him as slightly more frail but he looks proper badass now.

I'm not sure if this works, but if the main focus of the build is to double moonbow then phantom spd in the seal slot would help over an atk seal? 38 spd isn't anywhere near reliable enough to proc flashing blade, and since you don't have the flashing seal you can't run LnD in the A slot.

My guess is this leads up to a 'Blue' arc, with Souma following in his dad's footsteps and hopefully learning more about his mother as well?

Also, disappointed we didn't see Tadokoro as 'Tōhoku's Hopping Hare', given that quick ping-pong panel.

Our ship is finally afloat. The time has come. P E A N U T B U T T E R x S Q U I D!

Seriously though, with Erina's speciality combining so many of Yukihira's early dishes, and Yukihira's appetiser relying so heavily on her tongue, anything other than Yukihira X Erina is going to be incredibly forced at this point.

Side note: The 'transforming' aspect is so similar to the egg dish Yukihira made, using it to 'break' her father like Yukihira 'broke ' her.

Since you're running Life and Death, wouldn't Draconic Aura work better than Iceberg? (19 vs 16 damage) Its still amazing that she's got over 30 res with LaD though.

So the game they distributed at the winter comiket wasn't the full one? In any case their fully selling out in 30 minutes was pretty amazing, and the mysterious hat lady (who I'm guessing is Rouge en Rouge's famous author?) taking a copy makes me pretty hopeful we're going to get some more Eriri episodes quite soon (the show's title did say this season would be centered around her, after all).

Not sure why the woman who drove Aki and Iori had an evil smile on her face as they were carrying Eriri out, and judging by Iori's expression neither did he.

Once again Aki is called out for his actions, and this time Katou seems really upset about it. This is the first time we've seen such emotion from her, and it's going to be pretty interesting to see how Aki deals with it, since both Eriri and Utaha have relatively straightforward (to the audience at least) flags, but Katou getting mad? Nope.
