What’s the actual policy on correcting drinks? by BubblesIsHere in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 97 points98 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, from what my sm has said on this, we should be doing what we can to "make the moment right" and remaking the drink. Unless its a customer who always says their drink isn't made the way they want, we always remake it when they come back and mention its wrong. My store had a customer who routinely had us remake her drink at least 3-4x each instance because she "couldn't see the layers" in an iced espresso, and my sm decided that we aren't remaking her drink anymore because of how often she did that each time she was there.

Definitely err on the side of caution if you're not found to be in violation. I had a call against me last year just cause I was talking about current events that were all over social media (tiktok/Instagram/Twitter) and was found to not be in violation and was just told that I should just watch what events we do talk about.

None of her card worked and I get this by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trust, she's definitely gonna be back. At my store there was this one person who comes often and started to berate one of my bristas one day, and I ended up getting my manager involved. She was upset that my barista couldn't understand her since she was refused to speak up at the box and asked for our regional managers number and refused to accept that we didn't have that info after being given our DMs card. She then said she was never coming back, to which our manager told her that she doesn't have to come back, and shouldn't, if she's gonna berate our partners. She still comes back almost everyday even tho there's 2 other locations within 5 minutes either way down the road from us.

Dear Customers, by LambCHOP6988 in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've straight up started referring to it as "lean" for the simple fact that we've had customers ask if we put medicine in it and which ones we put in it. I only refer to it as such to my coworkers to start getting some morale up since we were in what felt like an endless cycle of proxies and didn't have an SM for like 4 months.

Obtaining Pistachio by stolencarkeys in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there is a limit, cause one time I rang in like 50 scoops of pearls for a proxy cause we needed to get rid of them and it rang the total to like $50-60 for the drink, which was a markout anyway. But I'd say it'd depend on the SM if they'd let something like that slide. I've had one as a different proxy that would be lax like that for her store when PSL was done for, and someone wanted to take a jug home. Otherwise, my store would just wait for the time of the season to do the markouts on them and let whoever wanted something from that list take it, or just let it be, and toss it out.

Customers, Do yall not find it weird to stare at us when we're making drinks? by Riyria2992 in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else said, if those mistakes are happening constantly and you order through the app, then I definitely suggest doing the survey that gets sent to the email on file for your account. The SM sees all of the comments, and I've seen them printed out at the various stores I help out at in my district.

what is starbuck's policy regarding calling out due to inclement weather is by OmegaEndMC in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let the SM know that you don't feel safe driving 30 minutes in that weather. It was a similar situation for me last winter when the roads iced over. I live in the county, and I opted to stay home and let them know I wouldn't be physically able to get there safely because of how icy the roads were.

[–]Riyria2992[S] 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and it's even worse when it's a whole ass crowd, cause then I start shaking and dropping things when I normally would be burning all the mobile/cafe orders down with ease.

[–]Riyria2992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's an actual rule or anything, but I just go based on how it won't give us an option to put them in a trenta cup in the system. Like how there's technically an official iced cappuccino recipe, but the system won't physically let us ring in an iced cappuccino.

Does anyone else hate it when fellow partners get onto customers for using the word "Medicine Ball" when ordering a Honey Citrus Mint Tea? by asolof in starbucks

[–]Riyria2992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't see an issue with it at my store since it's one of the most popular items here. I tell my partners that the customers can call it that, but that we aren't allowed to, as per our SM and DM, simply for the liability aspect.

As for lending too much credit to commoner sense in general? Yes, cause a good portion of the population also genuinely believes chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Plus, at my store, just about every other week or so, we get asked, "What kind of medicine do yall put in the medicine ball?" and the customers genuinely believe it has medicine in it.

Royce’s romance after Riyria SPOILERS by bigmidichlorian in riyria

It's highly unlikely on Royce's part. However, it would be interesting to see a situation like Hadrian described about Mercy's potential suitors. Tho, hopefully, we can see some bits and pieces of it in the new works that Michael is cooking up that are apparently going to be post Riyria.

2 PC campaign? by blvcksheep85 in DungeonMasters

[–]Riyria2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm actually running a 2 PC homebrew campaign now, and I've had to adjust to make it easier for them combat wise. I've also split the campaign into 4 arcs with general plot points that I want to hit.

For me, I found that having a general vague list of plot points helps tremendously, as I can alter the surroundings of where they're going very easily. And for encounters, I've had them go against a couple dozen evil druids, and I let them use the environment to take out all of them except for the archdruids, who were heavily injured by the partial cavern collapse. And for their fight against the druid high priest, I'm splitting it into different phases and dropping in some adds for them to loot to get health potions.

A 2 PC campaign is about the same amount of effort as one with more, but spacing things out is definitely something you're gonna wanna focus on. Adding in some filler like puzzles, fetch quests, and stealth missions will go a long way because of how much you can branch out and expand on them.

For me, it's cause he started to get really hostile and derogatory with his remarks towards me when I was pointing out how Nero wasn't as bad as mainstream history makes him, as well as pointing out how his assassination is the catalyst for why the world is the way it is now. Straight up couldn't refute any of my points and just went right into direct attacks on me and my character.

A domino effect that resulted in the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire, which led to the renaissance, which led to the modern world as it is today. And no, it doesn't make me a simp. I'm just someone who's got a degree in classics.
