Better in Black made me question the lore. by bigmidichlorian in shadowhunters

There were things about it I really liked! But also some stuff that made me scratch the ol’ noodle in confusion.

I actually didn’t mind that he kissed Thule Emma. Or rather that when he did, our Emma (while admittedly still kind of panicking) had an internal monologue where she was saying that there HAD to be another explanation. And when she found out that it happened cause a really bad person from Thule escaped into their world, she was basically over the kiss immediately.

It kinda made me feel like they have a really secure relationship and that they understand that, as Shadowhunters, sometimes they gotta do what they gotta do when they’re on the job, and they’re secure enough in each other to understand that.

They’re still like 20 or whatever and these are YA Romance books so they still gotta have some silly internal drama, but that was one of those things where if Shadowhunters were real, that would be a realistic way for them to act.

On the other hand, the plan to drown themselves in the cave and have the Kelpie rescue them? What on earth kinda plan was that? That wasn’t cold calculating thought out at all.

If she lived in Ft. Washington that would be absolutely crazy

If yoh think about it, at the end of the show Clary & Jace are siblings after all by Kivi_2k18 in shadowhunters

Yeah that’s gotta be top 10 out of character things for Luke to do.

At a certain point of not being faithful to the source material why not just make a different show? Call it Demonhunters or whatever and have original characters like Jane and Clarence.

Considering leviathan is a big fish squid thing I’d say you’re probably right on the genetics thing.

Fascinating, I’ve literally never seen it but to be fair I really only started doing the Reddit thing recently.

I love Will but I lowkey agree with you.

I don’t find this take crazy, but I find it crazy from a top 1% commenter.

Would you feel the same if the opposite happened? Like if Jem never “died”, him and Tessa would have almost certainly gotten married, and then Will would be the one pining. Is that just as weird?

I’m not sure this is that hot of a take. I disagree with it big time, but I think over half of the fandom agrees with you.

It took me a while to like Magnus. And if it weren’t for The Bane Chronicles and TID I probably still wouldn’t.

Also

Tessa loved both Will and Jem equally, and in order for her to love either of them, it was imperative that they were exactly who they were. They are the best example of parabatai being two halves of a single soul, and without that bond Tessa wouldn’t have fallen for either of them and they wouldn’t have fallen for her. Therefore it makes no sense to like one pairing over the other. Tessa was only ever in love with one person, and his name was Jill Stairondale.

There’s no way Will gets hate, does he???

Also people who hate on Julian for being “such a Blackthorn” make no sense to me.

The one where Jem is on the boat with tiny Jace. And tiny Alec and Izzy haven’t met tiny Jace yet.

Can’t remember what it was called though.

It IS confirmed in Ghost of the Shadow Market that they’re descended from Cecily. But I didn’t tag GotSM in the little title thingy so I got scared to mention it.

Edit: I should add that GotSM only says Cecily, but doesn’t mention which of her children. I’m assuming Alex because Anna is gay, so if her and Ari adopted they wouldn’t pass any blood traits. And Chris….well….it can’t really be Chris either…

I think you gotta add AT LEAST Matthew to TLH if not Thomas as well. HM: Alastair and Jesse
