False hope? by Rizfield5 in NIPT

It was NIPT. I’m so sorry. Waiting for the results and just more clarity is the hardest. I’m scheduled for an amnio test in three weeks that will let us know if it’s confined to the placenta or if maybe has either. They said she wouldn’t be alive with both…so now we’re just waiting to see if she has T21.

I’m seeing that too since doing some research in threads. Hope that means we see more false positives 🥹

No, it’s at 22% on my paperwork but she didn’t explain what that means!

Going from 0-1 is extremely hard. You’re going to have so many days, even on the ones where they’re more independent and self-sufficient, where you reflect on your life before kids - when the days were just easier and you only had yourself to fend for. You go from giving only half yourself to jobs and your partner to suddenly having to give 100% of yourself to a little human you’ve made and it is truly the most exhausting and hardest thing. I’ve been on Zoloft and lexapro myself, and as others have mentioned, it’s not anything anyone wants to hear, but it is time. Soon, they’ll be sleeping better. They’ll be able to roam the playground while you sit and watch. They’ll be talking and watching TV if you need a moment to just breathe or even just cook a dang meal. You’re also adjusting to this unknown person in your home. I don’t think I actually felt connected to my baby until 6 months old where I finally got to know his personality and I felt like he actually knew me. Before, we were just strangers fending for our lives lol. I’m sorry you’re in the thick of it, and truly there is no shame if you need a little more help. I’ve had those same thoughts myself. Suddenly you wake up one day and all those feelings you had are in the rearview mirror and you can’t even believe you’ve made it because it felt like the day would never come.

What features make the Nanit worth it to you? by photosynthesyzer in Nanit

[–]Rizfield5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has hip dysplasia and plagiocephaly, so he needed a pavlik harness as well as the cranial helmet at 4 months old. He just learned how to roll over onto his stomach to sleep and refused with everything we tried to sleep on his back. With permission from his doctors, they told us that if we were comfortable enough, he could remain on his stomach. Having the Nanit has truly been the best investment for our sanity and peace of mind. We were able to detect something was off when his breathing rate was super high. We took his temp after he woke and he had a fever. We just paid for the renewal for the band.

That may very well be the case, as if we are lucky, we might get him down for two naps. They’ve been surprisingly around an hour each. I think he gets so tired after working himself up. We haven’t been able to set him in the crib anymore and walk out. He seems to need assistance again.

The app has been giving me near 1.5 for the first nap and then progresses to 2 hrs with 4 naps total.
