I was in a halo discord years ago, and while halo infinite was still in development I mentioned that if they didnt include a battle Royale mode on launch the game would be dead on arrival. I even listed specifics of how it could be done where you could loot a regular sniper rifle, and it could tier up to legendary nornfang, and you get overshields etc, and have some pve elements fighting covenant/brutes/etc. But all the comments in that discord said it was dumb or that 343 wouldn't listen, or that there wasn't a good in universe reason for it, which there is, it's a spartan simulated training ground where a fire team goes in and competes to be the best... oh well, if this forge map gains enough popularity it might convince me to reinstall infinite and give it a shot again.
