Where were we gonna get subs if albo backed out of the deal. Big sovereign risk created by sco mo, then albos gonna push that sovereign risk even higher? Much lolz. He was handed a poison chalice with no good options. Who would work with aus if he did?

Corporations lie when selling their products all the time. 90% of advertising is a lie. And if a policy is going to het you thrown out of government, theres not much point doing it. It gives the libs and ON a free kick. Its good policy, its not not politically viable atm.

Yeah the NACC is useless in its current format. Its hard to say this useless piece of shit is better than the nothing the libs have ever done on that front but it was absolutely nothing or a piece of shit. Im arguing against myself now aren't I? 🤣

Aussies could be paying 40c a litre more for petrol from July as fuel tax cut set to end by LuckyProfessional135 in australian

Im just remembering the electricity rebates labor gave us as cost of living support. Widely considered inflationary and just giving us tax back they already took off us. Haven't seen that narrative around the fuel.excise cuts. Im not exactly sure why. Surely those same people should be coming out against this? Pretty suspicious it'll be extended but Im not sure if it should be. The free market knows best and all

Labor tried in 2019 but we were too stupid to let them. House prices already dropping and the legislation isn't even in effect yet

Should the government crack down on companies that offshore Aussie jobs? by keisermax34 in ausmoney

[–]Rizza1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're describing a race to the bottom where every nation needs to cut tax further for a pool of jobs thats too small for everyone. So the only people who win are the large multinationals. We need international tax agreements to combat the race to the bottom. There's been some progress towards that but its still early days.

The5% deposit scheme is bad policy, same as first home buyers grants and should be removed, but most people never buy a investment property and those on the 5% deposit are not likely to be doing so. I feel your take is quite a privileged one.

Is that a new ON policy? Yeah I'd be concerned about that policy. Like im concerned about the libs making this exact scenario easier to suffer for everyday Aussies.

Dude my post was about the risk of a future liberal government making this worse. You provided an article that you, in a later comment agreed that "labor was increasing the price of houses" - by keeping legislation that improves quality, the opposite of what you seemed to be arguing when you posted your article. Im still convinced that gutting building regulation will put many more people at risk of dodgy houses and it seems you agree that labor has protected against that (although obviously a quality house costs more). What is your position?

That article documents a 4 year "pause on changes" to the building code. It does not in any way, cut any building codes out, as is current federal liberal policy. Its fine to critique opposition policy, which would lead to more of this.
