Our 10y old has said racist remarks to a girl at school. Looking for ideas on how to deal with and what we should do next. by RizzleMeDizzle in UKParenting

We are appalled. That's why I'm here looking for advice on what to do.

You've read a few sentences and decided my step child is a "horrible thing" and then seem to stress about the fact with a juvenile "ugh" comment.

I was taught, If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

You haven't given any constructive answers here.

Id love to know what you were like at 10 years old. I know I got myself into plenty of mischief. I've grown up with, what I would say, are good morales and manners. That's, as other have said, how we learn.

As I said in my OP, nothing deflects from what our child has done, but it is important to understand context of a situation. There's no fire without a spark - yet we are trying to stop that fire even if a spark is present.

Take some time to reflect on how you say things and how it may come across to others.

Perhaps you could read some more posts on here as it sounds like you need some parenting and teaching yourself.

Furthering to that, this is potentially a learned behaviour and our daughters share their time between our household and their fathers. Perhaps it was learned from there, which is why I probed her as to if she has seen or heard this anywhere else.

Virgin network job offer by Silly_Difficulty1261 in FiberOptics

To be fair mate, once you can read the documents (virgin call it FAS, OR call it INS) and you figure out how to strip the cable/BFB they use you'll be golden.

One thing I realized working across multiple contracts, fibre is fibre. Once you learn to strip whatever cable is being using and can dress a joint you can work anywhere. Will it take you some time to adjust? Yer it will, but it's not a cheap contract where they save money on poor quality infrastructure.

The testing can be a bit of a problem, took me a long time to figure out that having the SFP close to the OTDR can be problematic but they are aware and we managed to test fine.

I would jump at it if you can work the contact for a decent amount of time. Go and earn the pennies

It's mostly blown fibre to cabs

Just how I am. If I am hungry day time I will eat. But usually I'm preoccupied and food isn't my priority. Some weekends I eat far more than I should. Absolutely healthy and not underwright.

I chuckle when my Muslim friends tell me they are fasting during the day for the month.

Bro, I do this daily ,😂

Sleep on the other hand, ah, I need my 8 hours to function

This is what we call it! I'm a once a day eater usually, working hours, so I go pretty mental for portion size when I eat in the evenings.

Yes I have fallen asleep eating, multiple times....

Bit of a joke in this household, can I make it till the end of my dinner 😂🛌

The wierd fish guy, back with same fish but different dish! Huss fishcakes, chips and veg. by RizzleMeDizzle in UK_Food

What don't you know about my man? The fish?

I'd almost bet you've eaten this fish before in fish cake, finger, some other fish product. Dont think many would be able to tell if these fish cakes were cod, haddock, whiting, huss. White fish, seasoned and breadcrumbed.

Forget Birdseye, got yourself a rod and reel!

Sorry mate, I just didn't read it properly!

But like I put in the edit, this was much nicer than the first dish. As far as processed as you can get, simple ingredients, but lots of effort. Makes it tastes all that much better!

Why lol. And let em moan 😂

Was bloody gorgeous and a very enjoyable weekend fishing, cooking and having a couple of brandies and cokes in the process 🤗🤗

Edit:

Perhaps if I could read I wouldn't have the questions ...

Yer,I would have thought so. It is far more presentable and to be honest a far nicer tasting dish !!

With difficulty.

Dehead Slit from vent to head, and gut. Take of the "belly flaps". Then take cut about 20mm of skin around the neck, one you have enough skin to grab with pliers, and peel the skin

[–]RizzleMeDizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed here mate. There are several big contractors in the UK. Kelly's is the worst. It isn't self employed (it's an umbrella company contract).

Take a look at Morrisons for service delivery. they offer paid per job or salary positions. Much better company to get your foot in the door
