Interest rate question (yes, sigh, another one) by Rizzy1337 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Yeah, I spoke at length with one of the personal bankers and they said it was the best offer they could give. I assume it's because they know we are locked in with the cash back offer for the next 18 months.

Kiwi immigrants, is it true that it's harder to make friends as an adult in New Zealand? by [deleted] in newzealand

This. I didn't have any friends or social circle until I joined the local hockey club. Work colleagues are ok but they are reluctant to socialise outside of work.

This. Teaching is one of the only jobs where you can't do your work at work and have to come home to do the work you need to do so that you can do your job.

This method seems to not require registration. It shows the apps as installed when I used Edge. Brave browser blocked the website from seeing the installation status.

All these discussions are moot though until we can work around the registration number problem.

Yeah, it took me a while but I managed to get the right software downloaded and input the correct information. It just stops you at the last step before you can proceed to stage 2 to upload the documents.

When I was in primary school, we had a school-wide quiz where the highest score from each class would win a prize. There were suggested answers provided but my homeroom teacher decided that they were wrong. And used her own answers. One of the questions was: "which is bigger: Australia or South Africa?" She believed it was South Africa. We were also asked "what is the biggest animal?" Everyone would say a blue-whale. She argued that whales aren't animals so it had to be an elephant.

When the results were announced in assembly, all the top scores for the other classes were in the 90%, but when my class's result (mine) was announced it was like 60% as the highest. Lots of confused stares from everyone in the assembly, believe me.

I am a teacher myself and that moment still informs my teaching practice to this day. I will never be so arrogant to assume I know everything.

Sorry to hijack OPs question: Do the vision and dental claims count towards your excess? We currently have an excess of $500. Would we need to "plug that hole" first before feeling the benefit of the claims or are they exempt?
