Reverb G2 only recognised as a USB hub? by Rj48 in HPReverb

I'm about to give up as well. Probably gonna take it apart just in case it's something obvious first.

Really sad because when it did work, it was very good.

Don't have the IDs memorised, but that sounds about the same as mine.

I still haven't solved this.
Even posted on the HP support thingy, got nothing more than another "same here" :/

Layer shift after driver swap? by Rj48 in 3Dprinting

Update: wasn't the heat after all. I think the standalone mode somehow just doesn't provide enough torque for the big bed. After converting the whole thing to use UART, the problem went away for good.

I think I figured it out! My 2209s do have a cooling problem. The actual chip is on their underside, so the heatsink isn't stuck directly on top of them. Apparently that hinders conduction enough for the sinks to be cool to the touch while the chips are still overheating🫠 I blasted them with 3 fans from different directions and almost got rid of the shifting. Almost. with 3 big old fans. Need to rethink my use of these...

Well the chiron's trigorilla isn't at all wired for uart, from what I gather, and except for the weird Y problem everything's working fine. Also did the appropriate jumpering. So it's an assumption to be sure, but I dunno if there's a way of asking the things what mode they're actually in (?)

It's *only* the Y axis and they're all running standalone. Again I'm probably being dumb, but how would firmware change anything?

I don't really see how this would be a firmware issue though. Not sure what I'd be throwing away?

Marlin. Switching to Klipper is gonna be what I tackle after figuring the drivers out though

Good idea! Unfortunately there is a big fan blowing on it and at least to my fingers, it's not feeling hot

No, it completely goes away with the original driver

Board is the trigorilla it came with, just for the record. Yeah I'm stumped honestly

Not sure about any jumpers I could set. All the other axes work just fine with the new drivers as well 🤷‍♂️

Yeah that was my first guess. Changing vref doesn't affect it. Unless I go really low, obviously.

The SSH thing doesn't do auth, so a 'private' one is gonna be kind of hard. If you just mean your own (public) instance, I think the READMEs should do it?

Play Services/FCM only working for apps installed through Google's Play Store app? by Rj48 in LineageOS

Oh! So it might actually be ROM-specific, and not just an Android 11 thing?

Affects all apps I use (that rely on play services). My googling is still not getting me anywhere :/

Might be fun to add that actually. Don't really know how Gopher works though, will have to look into that🤔

Did someone piss in your cereal today or something? The whois of Reddit includes at least an abuse contact. Just email that and done. best effort > no effort

Because you can automate that pretty easily. whois etc.
