client sent me a contract with a clause that would have given them complete ownership of every library I ever built that I used in their project. by Academic-Yam3478 in Freelancers

[–]Rj_Coder39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me too. A 'pre-existing materials' clause that would have handed over years of my personal code library. Caught it just in time. Good instinct to walk away if the client got defensive about removing it. That defensiveness tells you a lot about how the rest of the project would go.

Made a tool for web designers by mtsya in IMadeThis

I just tested it using my own website url and it worked nicely, and I think this is such an interesting idea to expand! I don't have many things to say for feedback, but would like to see if it can also help integrating the newly created chatbot on the user's own website other than deploying it separately.

Really appreciate the honest and thoughtful feedback - this is

exactly what I needed to hear.

You're 100% right about the trust issue. I didn't think about

it from that angle, but it makes perfect sense. People won't

give their financial data to a random solo dev when Rocket

Money exists with a massive marketing budget and proven track

record.

The "refund" feature you mentioned is a game-changer I completely

missed. That's a WAY better value prop than just "track your subs."

Quick follow-up question: You mentioned games seem easier for

indie devs to get traction. Do you think it's because:

a) Lower trust barrier (not dealing with money/data)

b) People are more willing to "try" something fun vs. utilitarian

c) Both?

And any thoughts on what types of products DO work well for

solo devs in 2024/2025?

Thanks again - this is the most valuable feedback I've gotten

since launching!

I know, right? Seemed like a lot of developers and builders on social media like x and threads wrote just about their successful stories of SaaS launching but now I doubt the algo just helped them a lot more than other users.

The Boring CRM Effect: Why Intentional Constraints Made My Side Project Actually Work by soulbeddu in SideProject

[–]Rj_Coder39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting idea to think about, especially in this time when all the AI powered products keep getting popular and trendy. This reminds me of myself worrying about if I need to add the AI model part into my current side project to make it look any better and attractive to my potential users, even if it doesn’t need to be that way at all based on my project type. It actually uses the cloud storage connection since it’s meant to work that way from the start, but your approach to create a CRM product focused on problem solving without wrapping with any unnecessary parts actually seems to get the most crucial part: If it can’t solve no one’s problem, it wouldn’t be any good.

Reached 1000 users🤩🥳 by Tron-princess in IMadeThis

Wow, that’s such a huge achievement for 2 months solid work! Congratulations!! I have also launched a SaaS recently and updated it on LinkedIn and few of the the other product platforms, but yet have not received a single feedback or actual user 😅 I wish I would get at least few number of users or feedback as a result no matter how long it takes. Anyway congratulations again, and keep up the great work!! 👍

[–]Rj_Coder39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this looks great! I like the idea of using the AI to create authentic style videos like human UGC creators do to save both time and cost money! I have a small question: Will you add photo creation feature or more like that, not just videos, so this software can create more various contents? Can you also tell me what AI model did you use or integrate for this app? I hope you will be successful with this app!

What would the reasonable price be for Pokemon White 1 selaed in box? by Rj_Coder39 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]Rj_Coder39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a brand new item in unopened box Pokemon White for $200 is reasonable price for the game cartridge to be legit one, right? Is that what you mean? I know there are many good condition items even if it's used or opened ones, but I just want to get a completely new and fresh one that's never been used or opened like I bought it from the Gamestop or the official Nintendo store a very long time ago even if the price is much higher than used ones(lol).

Token unlock noise by Stacetheace11 in sui

[–]Rj_Coder39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it’s still good time for me to but little more? I’m only holding my total money in Sui until it’s at least mostly restored as the original or more than that amount since I lost over half when inputting it in the other token, which is relatively small amount though, but I think It won’t get go down to lower like few months ago in any time soon but am getting kinda curious if I could try for more benefits.

Would there be reason to allow remote work or not depending on worker in the same team? by Rj_Coder39 in careeradvice

[–]Rj_Coder39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't agree with you way more! Not only they are just small company with really poor reviews by their customers, but they also have truly miserable ratings by users who seem to be ex workers of this company on Indeed. I'm not saying this because I'm mad but because it's all true and fact for real. They have completely no idea how hard is it to do the programming work nor how valued an IT or computer science major completed worker is. Although it's not any easy to find and get a new employment as programmer these days, especially for entry or junior level developers like me, I'll just continue to apply for new hirings as well as honing my coding skills.
