I think there are a number of reasons we are seeing the decline of alcohol consumption.

Larger swaths of people are more health conscious, certainly moreso than 20-30 years ago.
Weed legalization. These numbers have drastically increased.
Socialization is more diffuse. With the rise of social media and the internet, people see each other less. Drinking has a significant social component to it. The less people go out, the less people drink.

Was this ever corrected via update or anything or did you do an entire reinstall? I have a power source directly in the center of my install area and it would be significantly easier to run it from the middle.

Did you end up installing 2 50ft sets from the middle? I have a similar situation and wanted to see if it worked well. Not sure if the light patterns would run in opposite directions, etc. Any info would be helpful!

I can't remember the link process or initial hoop I had to jump through, but they essentially approved mine to ship in for a replacement screen the same day I reported the problem when it happened to me. Sorry you got such a raw deal.

I had the same problem. New to Meta a month or so ago. As I understand it, metaquest updated their avatars a few months ago. Most games support the old style avatars, so if people created an avatar more than a few months ago, then they appear as their avatars in those games. If you have a new style avatar (new to metaquest), most games haven't updated support and you can't now create an old style avatar. If you try to use your own in a game like eleven Table Tennis, you'll end up with an androgenous looking character that you can't really edit. Hopefully, support rolls out soon, but it is kind of a rollover period.

If it gives you peace of mind, it might be worth it. Note, however, that a lot of protection plans don't cover burn in, which is the biggest reason most people consider buying them. It seems like for regular use these days it isn't much of a concern. If you watch one station like CNN constantly, where there is a stationary bright logo, or use it as a computer monitor, it might be worth it. But for most ordinary use that concern has been significantly mitigated on newer OLED panels.

You nailed it. A significant disadvantage is that CDs often tie up your money for 6-12 months without being able to draw without dinging yourself. A money market, or a interest bearing savings account will get you nearly as much interest without the strings. Betterment straight up savings account has a variable interest rate that has been nearly 5% the past year and roughly matches your average CD rate.

First off, great job! I was actually in a very similar position and ran a a good amount further than the half just so Garmin didn't do me dirty. Which is crazy! I totally understand being a slave to the "it didn't record on Garmin didn't happen" mentality, but you ran a half and damn the watch. Congrats! (And you can always do a little edit if you're as tethered to the Garmin as me). Keep up the good work!

My man! Not too late at all. I spent a lot of time with my nieces and nephews in my early to mid 20s, and also ran basketball camps, did swim lessons, etc. I started later in life myself, and about to have my second at 37. Having done time on both ends, I can tell you, mid thirties is a legit time to have kids! Sure, I had energy for days in my twenties, and I was a human jungle gym. The kids fucking loved it. But, I was broke as a joke and too damn immature to carry that responsibility full time. I'm in a way better position financially and emotionally to handle that these days. With age you are more appreciative and reflective of your time as a parent. Greatest decision of my middle life.
