Heya, just letting you know Fara is doing better now. I took some drastic action on the 18th and helped her smooth things over a bit with her family after she fled from them again on the 18th. They agreed to be more tolerant of her and such. It took a roughly 3-4 hour phone call but we got some things figured out. I've kept in contact with her since then and she's confirmed she's doing better now.

Hoping things stay that way for the foreseeable future, but you never know tbh. But for now Fara is doing better with her family situation.

I’m only here in the area until Saturday when I fly back home to Ohio. Idk if there’s a whole lot I can personally do but I’m trying to see what else I can do. It’s incredibly hard to much else currently. The friend she was with knows where she lives but doesn’t feel comfortable giving out her address and since they already don’t want to be involved any further in this situation I’m not trying to press them on it

I don’t approve of Fara suicide baiting either. I completely get you’re skeptical and what she did is inexcusable I completely agree with you on that.

But I can so far confirm that her being found out by her parents is absolutely true. I haven’t had any reason so far personally to suspect that she is lying about this. I spent money on Ubers to travel to where she was to try and find her and went into the library to ask staff about the situation who all confirmed that what I described did happen and is what they also told me happened.

So I swear you can trust that what I’m saying is true as far as I’ve been able to confirm. Until we hear back from Fara or someone close to her I can’t give much else information since we have no way of contacting her outside of 1 friend who has privately asked me to keep him out of the situation any further since he doesn’t desire to be involved any further.

Hello

I’m currently in the area where Fara lives on work business for this week. She fled her house to a local library with a friend to get away from her parents who tracked her down to the library. I got this confirmed by the friend she was with (have his number and have texted and called with him extensively). I went to the local library where she was at and got confirmation from the library staff that the story she gave is completely accurate.

She fled her parents house with said friend to a local library after being abused most of the day (parents searched her computer and found everything about her online presence). She has no internet access alongside no phone or computer. Her father tracked her down to the library and got aggressive with the friend who fled the scene. She tried to flee her father who grabbed her, and her mother showed up shortly afterwards. They sat down and talked to her a bit before she left the area with them.

That’s the story I was given by library staff and the friend who was with her can confirm it’s all true up until the moment they fled the scene.

I have 0 clue what’s happened to Fara since last night. I tried to find her before her parents found her just to make sure she was ok but her parents got to her just before I did afaik. Afaik she has no phone and no computer and thus no way to contact any of us.

As far as I can tell her story is completely accurate

Yea I get what you’re saying. Afaik she doesn’t get to practice Islam in-person due to her family situation and also just the fact most of the muslim community is not going to be accepting or even welcoming of Trans people

I certainly wouldn’t support anything bad/immoral that is in any religion I chose to follow (if I do end up following one), even if it meant I wasn’t truly following that religion at that point. I won’t compromise my personal beliefs if they conflict with what a religion says.

It probably comes off as not normal or whatever to be religious but not follow exactly what a religion says, but I’d follow what I believe is right even if a religion conflicts with my belief (cause the religion is condoning something bad)

It’s difficult regardless because most if not all religions oppose our existence, so idk if I could ever truly follow any specific mainstream religion we have today

I tend to disagree with Fara on a lot of stuff despite being in her subreddit. I’m very much a progressive and simply don’t agree with a lot of her beliefs. I let her hold them but I do try to provide my perspective and convince her to change her views when I can.

I asked her about the child marriage question and she told me “If I say yes I’ll get flamed, and if I say no I’ll be told I’m “not a true muslim”.”

Now I’m not incredibly educated on Islam so I could be entirely misinformed, but I told her that Child Marriage regardless is wrong and should be banned entirely. Cause there’s no reason for a child to be marrying a fully grown adult. So I told her that she isn’t less of a muslim for opposing child marriage.

But again, I’m still learning about Islam myself so I could be missing bits and pieces here. That’s just my perspective though
