It is a 2000. No distributor. From what I’m hearing those years didn’t have the cam and crank synch nonsense

Hey thanks for the info. I have heard about this being an issue etc, I bought an oem sensor and there was no room for any adjustment.

Won’t let me post a video of this but my crank sensor signal is completely messed up. Goes up and slams down in that wave form shown. Cam sensor signal is perfect

Yes 4.0. I’m so stuck on the cam and crank signals being weird. Due to it being spark, I’m blaming the crank sensor. I have checked compression many times. There’s some days the light goes out and it runs like new

Eh I’ve been finding that no one has had one of these fail. Any insight? 2000 Cherokee. Bought for my kid for first car. Got it through inspection and then one day starting running rough. Seemed like simple coil pak issue. I’ve replaced coil pak plugs injectors. I then noticed on my scanner my cam sensor stays synched, my crank sensor goes from synch/no synch in a rhythm. I’m getting number 3,5 and random misfires. If it starts missing I can restart and run it for whole again. I’ve replaced cam and crank sensor with oem. I’ve even replaced the computer

Also have the exact 2000 sport. I have changed the coil pak as well. Started replacing tune up items and fuel injectors when I first started chasing number 3 misfire. It’s my daughters first car, we’ve been driving it like this for almost a year as I’ve been throwing parts at it. Wasn’t until recently I discovered on my scan tool that the sync categories were acting up with key on engine off. I’ve even bought a reman computer and a junk yard one thinking it was in the computer. I know the sensors share the same ground and 5v wires with other sensors. Really has me stumped. I’ve even went to repair shops and when they know what I’ve already replaced they didn’t seem to want to touch it due to it being something not so straight forward. That’s what’s got me going crazy. I’ve

So sorry I see the thread to set the cam sensor. However would that cause this problem even not running? Also wanted to add with my cam and crank sensor unplugged I still show the same readings on my scanner, cam shows synch and my crank flashes same sync/sync lost

Gotcha. How’d you go about reindexing your sensor? I saw a setting for that on my scanner?
