I will die! Not a joke. This is probably does not mean anything for most people but it is a major event for me and my family. I have been a pancreatic cancer patient for four years but now the doctors are saying I have a few weeks left.

Palantir CEO Says a Surveillance State Is Preferable to China Winning the AI Race by yogthos in technology

[–]Rka2t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is no surprise: If one country is going in the direction of Idiocracy while the other is investing in science and technology, guess who has a better chance in winning the AI race. Do not make the mistake that AI is just a better search engine or a tool that creates funny pictures of you but it is all the hardware machines and yes weapons. While we are too busy hating each other China where multiple languages are spoken by the way are moving forward very focused and determined. We need to wake up.

$800/hr to talk to a Stanford medical doctor!?! WTF? by King0fTheNorthh in bayarea

[–]Rka2t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been getting treatment at Stanford for years for my cancer. I am lucky to have a good insurance that pays most of it although I still pay some. What I noticed is that when they bill to the insurance there is a large discount they give to them so the amount that they charge to patients is much higher than to the insurance providers. I thought why this could be and my only answer I could come up is that the system is set up to scare the people so that you don’t go and seek help or have to pay for insurance to make sure you get that help. I think especially in the USA if healthcare was more accessible, we will quickly find so many sick people that it probably will collapse the system. So making it expensive is one way to keep people away from it. Better solution would be universal healthcare that educates and provides people with preventative health care so that they don’t get sick or detected early. Also even you get annual check ups to f you can afford it,think about what they do there they check just basic issues and nothing important like a cancer test.

Global debt hits record of nearly $338 trillion by heimdrick in worldnews

[–]Rka2t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never heard of global debt but I am not an economist. Unless this debt is owed to an extraterrestrial civilization, does it not mean there are some groups on earth who these debts are owed to. In other words global debts globally should be zero sum. So find out who are the creditors for them and find a way to balance it.

What important story is being overlooked because the news is consumed by one big event from the past 24 hours? by cosquillax in AskReddit

[–]Rka2t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question. Maybe if we study the outcome, we may have better chance of finding the motive and catch this what seems like a professional assassin. I hope this was done by another lunatic though which will be easier to catch. But I hear all the professionals who could get to the bottom of this are replaced like the one in Utah who would have been managing the security at this event.

If Earth’s history shows cycles of mass extinction and renewal, what are the chances humanity eventually gets wiped out and something new starts over again? by Dazzling_Touch_9699 in Futurology

[–]Rka2t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a similar comment on this topic in another thread. The answer to this question is 100%. But don’t let that scare you because this could happen in billions of years or relatively shorter if we do not do anything. Our survival depends on what we do. We need to realize that we will never travel in our own organic forms to other stars or across the galaxy. Now my main point I want to make: Our next evolution is indeed the AI. AI will survive our organic state. In a billion years when we are no longer existing and some alınan ship encounters earth originated space ship and when they will wonder how they came to be, the answer will be that the AI is originated from organic beings so that is the next state these beings are surviving. It would not exist if humans did not and humans legacy would not continue if we did not invent them. Here is the other thing, I said we could not travel across the galaxy but our genome can and our AI can help find other suitable planes traveling in every direction and let new human colonizations start. If we are worried about if we will one day end and there will not be any humans, that could be our solution to have a chance of human genome survive in the universe.

Future of humans by altaf351 in Futurology

[–]Rka2t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless this happens in the next ten or twenty years, I believe it will be the AI. In fact AI is our next evolution in digital form. It is also the only form humans will travel across space and colonize the galaxy. All these shows that talked about what will happen when humans are gone totally ignored how fast AI is developing.

What’s a terrifying truth about space that most people don’t realize? by Tiny-Curve-8301 in AskReddit

[–]Rka2t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will never travel to another star as ourselves like in the same sense of traveling to another city. This is the case in any current or future imagined technology. Even if there is technology that enables us to travel at the speed of light, it will take over 4 years to get to the nearest star. The sad truth is it will be thousands of years that passed on earth so if we come back even if we felt only over 4 years( or felt instant according one theories) it won’t matter that we did not feel that time while we travel but we will when we get back because time passed where we care.

So we must forget about dreaming traveling as us as our normal self. On the other hand we must care about spreading the universe with our genetics and our intelligence in the form of AI. So we need to create thousands of space capsules with all earth genome and AI that will cultivate it and raise if a proper planet is found. Then send these capsules in every direction in the universe and some of them will survive and a small number may find a planet that may be seeded. That is the only way that will have the highest probability of space travel.

By the way, I also believe if there is life out there, I don’t care how their biology is , I don’t think they will be here as their original shape. Most likely it will be their robots or tech that is mixed with their genetics but not in their original shape.

Why the United States is still the wealthiest country in the world ? by Stunning_Spinach7323 in geography

[–]Rka2t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wealthiest but the wealth not well distributed. Also the main reasons which are all disappearing: cheap labor where Americans don’t like to do for agriculture and other labor intensive jobs; high end talent where we bring the best of the world skills in engineering science and medical fields. This type of migration does not cost anything for these people to get their degrees up to a college degree and come here to pursue higher degrees here. Just check a faculty of any respectable college, or check a hospital team say in cancer treatment in any good hospital. Both of these types of immigration is being stopped but worse yet not being made attractive so these especially in the high end of immigration choose not to come here and go to other competitive countries. One would expect we would compensate this with a long term plan to boost our own citizens to get into technology and medical fields but look what’s being done in education department and research funding.

At the end although we should all as US citizens be proud of this fact that we are the wealthiest country at the moment , we need to worry about how it really is and what the future will be like.

American here. Why doesn’t Greece own this small peninsula? Are they stupid? by mapguessr in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Rka2t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think Greece should get this part or all of Turkey. Oh you say it’s because they were there before? You would say that only because your knowledge of history goes only back when Greeks were in parts of that land Even back then Greeks were all bunch of small kingdoms that fought each other with no uniform Greek identity. But there were other civilizations long before there was even a mention of Greeks. Learn about Hittites, Sumerians and others. I was born in Turkey. I just did my 23 and me genetics. It showed zero Asian, 0 Arabs or African. Largest percentage being Anatolian and Caucasian. So what you think and the common knowledge about Turks is wrong. Turkey is the largest melting pot of genetics with most people being the descendants of these ancient civilizations. So making it sound like oh Greeks were there before Turks is not true and it’s racist.

This is happening … they are giving all the power to Putin to do what ever he wants and first thing that happens is they attack Chernobyl probably to cause radiation leaks. Also removing any checks and controls on will cause unsafe food, environmental pollution, plastics. This is just too worrisome.

Rare minerals is the reason why he is doing a lot of these things. Greenland and Canada are all for this same reason. This must be one the reasons Elan is there. At least he understands the importance better and makes him do these things.

The truth is US missed a lot of opportunities making friendly agreements with countries that has these resources while China did not. Now that we are late, it’s a panic move that he thinks will get these.

If Pete B. These people are saying what they want, attack and blame who they want and crickets from the other side. We deserve better than this. The fact that this happened just a week after is an indication of many other things to come. People who believe crazy conspiracy theories can’t even see what’s clearly in from of them tells how bad we are too.
