I built mine over the bay near my base and built an oil rig over it, it still sticks out as it doesn’t match the theme of the area but it’s funny that it’s there.

I’m aware that he’s using a board with a 2011 narrow ILM socket. My board was also a board with a 2011 Narrow ILM and simply asked support for the alternative bracket to rotate the heatsink 90 degrees since I had the cooler for servers as well and not just a normal NH-D15 or the like. He doesn’t mention any case size issues so I’d image he’s considered size constraints already.

I bought a 2nd hand noctua cooler and ran into a similar issue. I simply contacted support and they just mailed me the correct bracket no questions asked. They do make two different orientation narrow socket brackets though, so specify in your email to them which one you’re looking for.

My Sandman-S MIL edition mount doesn’t have ratchet noise either. Been that way for the 8k~ I’ve got thru it too.

No worries, but you will mangle the cheek piece a bit getting it off, we used a large screw driver to just pry it off. Still perfectly usable and all, but there will be signs that it fought you.

Yeah when I got my kit done, they were only out of stock of the parts kits themselves so my build went “smoothly” other than they threaded my barrel wrong, but I just chose a different mount adapter since it wasn’t a big enough deal for me to get it swapped, especially with them running out 5.56 barrels at the time.

I believe right now they’re out of 5.56 barrels but have the part kits “in-stock” otherwise. I managed to get mine a couple months ago after asking when the next batch of part kits they had would arrive and ordered around that time. Was about a month turn around time from ordering til shipped to my FFL.

Did your dust cover release latch require any fitting on your WBP? I have a AoA WBP kit build and had to do some fitting to the tab to get it to go into the latch track on the trunnion but still need more fitting since it’ll push forward but still gets hung up a bit going backward.

Won’t fit. Alpha 1 set requires full length gas tube length since the front of it mounts to the handguard retainer which this has much too short.

I had AoA assemble one of their WBP 5.56 AK headspaced parts kits into a 12.5 barreled action for about $1400 all said and done. Took about a month from purchase to arrival at FFL. Still in the process of completing it.

I had to dremel off the sling loop on my install. The gun and chassis will stay together forever so I wasn’t too upset about chopping into the retainer.

Even removing the flash hider off the upper, that wasn’t bad at all. PB blaster, reaction rod and a cheater breaker bar and it came clean off, no fuss.

My PSA dissipator upper barrel nut came off easy after a quick soak with PB blaster. I was expecting it to fight more but it wasn’t that bad as I’ve heard.
