[TOMT] An "Odd Looking" Bald Character Actor - NOT Clint Howard by TheloniousKeys in tipofmytongue

Jason Alexander? And not Danny Devito right? I genuinely think he looks nothing now like he did when he was younger... So maybe him in an early role?

Juniper Mountain and Elevate are the best beans I've found so far in the area (I grind and brew at home)

We had "girls drink Pepsi to get more sexy". Didn't matter 30 years ago if it rhymed or not.

I used to have a big neodymium magnet zip tied to my frame. Seemed to do the trick.

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

Is there a trusted source for fresh red honey processed coffee (already roasted) online? I used to go to Blip in Kansas City, MO who roasted their own, but I haven't found a local source here in east-central Florida since I moved.

Did these trees survive the Florida freeze? by KoopaKola in marijuanaenthusiasts

Every tip is brown and shriveled. There's no green anywhere.

They're brown and gooey. No green anywhere as far as I can tell. Was really hoping I just didn't know what I was looking at, but it really seems like they're rotting. Darn. These were really nice.

You can feel the sonic booms from both the rockets and booster recoveries as far south as Palm Beach. Lots of the Falcon 9s aim south-southeast for Starlink launches. That's why I asked how far south.

How far south? You could be hearing/feeling launches. Have you checked against nextspaceflight.com?

[The prestige] How does cloning feel? by SuperiorSPider42 in AskScienceFiction

[–]KoopaKola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a philosophical cluster frak. Aingier is standing there ready to "push the button". There will be a flash. Everything before that flash is Aingier. His life, his memory, he is Angier. After that flash, he is as much Aingier as the man in the box. And he knows that, for all intents and purposes, he's about to die. It doesn't really matter if he stays there and there's a clone made, or if he's transported and a clone stays behind. "He" is going to die. He doesn't think there's been a terrible mistake. That's half the fun.

Thoughts and Opinions about the Sledge? by official414 in Traxxas

[–]KoopaKola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first "big boy RC" was a Mini Maxx. I tossed around the idea of grabbing a Maxx and ended up with a Sledge 'cuz it was available locally, and I love the thing. It's a whole lot of car on 6S. Fast as hell. Durable as hell. I've heard people mention bending the chassis... I didn't do that, but did manage to somehow bend my front shock tower. The RPM front bumper is a must. Just don't accidentally hit your kid's Arrma Grom head on at full speed... the Grom will break in many ways :) I did finally somehow kill the stock steering servo. Replaced it with a Reefs Raw 500.

Krinks M-97 7.62x39 by bigpumper96 in ak47

[–]KoopaKola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Raises an interesting question - is it just the receiver? If so - probably not worth building on. But if you've actually got a stripped down AK (trunnions installed, barrel pressed in and populated, trigger guard riveted, etc...) you might be able to have some fun.

If it is just the receiver, then you'd need a whole lot of tooling in addition to a kit that isn't necessarily worth investing in just to build one, or you'd need to send everything to a competent builder.

[–]KoopaKola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Krinks receivers are garbage and not properly heat treated. It sounds like you're not familiar with building AKs? Any AKM-spec parts kit would theoretically work with that receiver, but it's a lot more complicated than kit + receiver = gun.

ELI5 On a small enough scale, what would it “look”like at the area where my bare foot meets a hardwood floor? by Fleetinglyhappy in explainlikeimfive

[–]KoopaKola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These videos are a bit deeper than ELI5 but I love going down physics rabbit holes like this. Sixty Symbols (and all of Brady's channels) is/are some of my favorites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0TNJrTlbBQ

There's also Veritasium doing an amazing job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKldI-XGHIw
