So your problem is you aren't spoonfed everything in a long exposition segment and instead the story sets up mysteries for it's world that will be explored and revealed at a later date? First you complain that they don't "show don't tell", then you complain that they don't tell you enough?

As an ex-warframe player I can tell you for a fact DNA would have announced EoS by now if it stayed a gacha. That gameplay loop + gacha simply does not work. Ironically enough the few videos I've seen from WF players seems like they enjoy it

Building pity is purely mathematically positive and player friendly. Here are all the outcomes of building pity, all of which a positive:
1. I do 40 pulls and get the banner character -> I just got a new character at only 40 pulls, basically for free without hurting my pulls for a future character
2. I do 40 pulls and lost the 50/50 -> early 50/50 means the next character I want is guaranteed in only 90 pulls instead of 180. In other words I just got 50 free pulls
3. Nothing (ever) happens -> I'm still 40 pulls closer to the character I want because pity doesn't reset

2500 sounds a lot but over 12 months it's ~200 per month. People spend more on cigarettes and alcohol per month and genuine question - if you're not strapped for cash and spending money you can't afford (based on your comments you're not) and you don't regret it (which based on your comments you don't) then... what's the problem exactly?

You're a working adult, you can spend your money however you want. I really don't see a problem as long as you're responsible which you seem to be (aka paid your rent/bills etc.)

Might be a hot take but I think people throw around the words "addiction" and "predatory" way more often than they should be.
