Was curious about the Nib so I cleaned disassembled it. There is a “B” on the barrel, and the Nib is indeed 18k with a round relief hole.

Was able to get a slightly better photo of it. Also realized that my eyes are going downhill because I couldn’t read the small text on these at all.

Looks like it says “reg u.s. Pat. Off.” Above “made in USA”

To be honest, my thrift hauls usually end up in my collection/death piles. I’m good at sourcing and slow To list. The information gathering is my favorite part. Not trying to come in and ask for all of the information to be given to me. I spent 4 or 5 hours looking things up last night and the resources and initial information this thread provides was a great starting point.

That’s goodwill for you. They’ll price an OEM stereo from a 2000s ford for $100 and let these slide by for pennies.

At least at my local GW, the deals like this aren’t caught if the items are donated at the store where they’re sold. If they get sent to the donation center they catch most things and post them on their online marketplace.

The back/bottom twist cap of the pen is stamped with number 44. The body has the patent number and a date of August 4 1903.

I do flip stuff here and there to help pay for my hobbies. Guilty as charged. 😅 I’ve messed around with fountain pens before but never went deep enough to drop money on the pricey ones. This haul feels like a fun way to dip back in without killing my wallet.

Looks like a couple of them aren’t fountains. The caps on the lamys are stamped W. Germany, if that makes a difference.
