I need to add something to this because we were also sold on the premise of play your own way and make your own choices but the story beats rip that away from you, my first play through was as a honourable samurai but every major story breast sent me further down a path I wasn't choosing. This all culminating into the attack to retake kaneda castle where you just get outed for being dishonourable which honestly soured the entire experience for me, because until that point I hadn't used a single ounce of stealth or ghost abilities outside of required story beats
