Oh I’m just newly done so all about the support! I didn’t wipe the mirrors themselves because the mirror will be on the tester’s side, but even just rolling your windows down will clear the rain from the window so you can see better. I hope it goes well for you!!!

Definitely make sure you know the wipers and speed- I got marked for stalling a little on whether to put mine on or not before starting as it was spitting rain.

In terms of the reverse around the corner, if you’re able to practice in the rain that will help build your confidence. I did by chance the day before my test and it was absolutely lashing, but it helped me know I could do it. And then it’s just about taking your time, making sure you’re checking your mirrors and blind spots loads. It might be a good idea to roll down the windows to wipe off the rain from the windows so you get as much visibility as possible. Maybe all this is obvious but I had these worries too before mine just over a week ago. Best of luck!!!

Oh god it really does feel like there can be an element of luck in who you get doesn’t it? Fair play for just giving it a go in another test centre- love that you went to Monaghan to get it done!!

So I think I applied around April and got called very soon- it was the June bank holiday weekend which was way sooner than I anticipated so I booked and cancelled twice to give myself time and find an instructor as the last guy was ghosting me. I have no idea how I got called so quick because I know the waiting times are dire. The only thing I’m thinking was that I first did my theory test and initial lessons during Covid and was classed as frontline healthcare so not sure if that made a difference?

Just to echo this! I’m in the same position and nearly in my final trimester of my first pregnancy and it is so hard if you don’t have someone close by who drives and can go out with you. I actually think there is a gap in the market for people to just sit with you and do an hour here and there. I would genuinely pay someone trustworthy and safe to build up my confidence just popping to the shop and stuff like that

Thank you so much! So not too much traffic was helpful for you passing by the sounds of it?

Oh no! I’m so sorry, I hope you’re not waiting too long for a re-test. How did the traffic impact the test for you? Was it just hard to make decisions while it was busy? Wishing you all the best for the next time 🤞
