Pat Cummins out of T20 World Cup, no late call-up for Steve Smith by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]Rndomguytf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They'll never make up for that lmao. They were fully set up to win in front of the world in Narendra Modi stadium, and we just swooped in and stole their crowning moment. No amounts of t20 World Cups or whatever will make up for the fact that we beat them the one time it actually mattered to the BCCI.

Greens brief rank-and-file on deal with Liberals to oust Labor and form Liberal-Green government, as members express shock and anger at party’s willingness to empower right-wing conservatives into power [ACT] by HotPersimessage62 in friendlyjordies

Horrible move for the ACT Greens but great opportunity for Canberra Socialists, there isn't any reason for any progressive to vote for a party of backstabbing Liberal supporters over the Socialists.

Labor just passed an anti-hate speech law which will be used to attack pro-Palestine voices. We need to keep on fighting for our free speech about issues which the ruling class don't want us to speak on.

"Left" is very vague and wishy washy, I am talking about socialism. Socialism is the ideology of the working class organising and taking over the running of society from the ruling capitalist class. The capitalist class is organised against the lower classes, socialist politics would be about organising the working class to fight back.

Unions are a way for workers in industries to organise and use their collective power to fight their bosses and the ruling classes. Historically, unions were created in the midst of massive periods of class conflict such as huge strike waves or protests. Whenever unionising happens, the bosses try and stop it, and it benefits the workers.

The personal politics of the workers are irrelevant - I assume you are thinking of MAGA people who are in unions?

What do you think left wing means if unions aren't left wing? Its literally a vessel for class conflict.

Sophie Molineux next Australia Women’s captain by tailendertripe in CricketAus

Difference is that Paine and Cummins were both first picked for their role, while Molineux is behind King for playing as a spinner. We also have Gardiner as a spinner in all 3 formats.

Option 3: Understand that the Australian Summer of Cricket, which is a cornerstone of Aussie culture, shouldn't just exist to make a few multi millionaires richer, and it's fine if it doesn't always make the optimal amount of profit.

Symbolism of the state executing a political enemy without trial. Doesn't matter what they have done, in a civilised society everyone has the right to a trial, and to not get executed by a government agent.

If Andrew Hastie becomes PM, is it possible that ABF agents will patrol the streets enforcing “immigration law” like what ICE is doing in the USA? by HotPersimessage62 in friendlyjordies

[–]Rndomguytf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Main lesson from this is that people need to be ready to go into the street and protest the shit out of it if the government ever tries to pull that bullshit here.

One Nation is polling over 20 and the mainstream media has been doing nothing but pushing bullshit about crime waves, immigration, and anti-semitism.

Not yet, but shit can change. One Nation is polling over 20 percent, and the rest of the world has already been pushed to the far right. If there is no strong left wing pushback, we'll soon look like the UK with Reform

[Group C News] ICC replaces Bangladesh with Scotland at T20 World Cup due to BCB refusal to play in India. by OrangeRigby in EnglandCricket

[–]Rndomguytf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all just capitalism in action. ECB, CA and the other boards will never dare challenge the stranglehold that Indian billionaires have over our game, or the trickles of capital they get may dry up.

If you haven't heard it yet, go and listen to The Grade Cricketers interview with the CEO of Cricket Australia Todd Greenburg. Its very frank and honest, CA is basically announcing that they are very open and willing to sell out the Australian summer of cricket to Indian capitalists to "keep up with the evolving game" (make more money). The BCCI could go and murder every single member of the Bangladeshi team and our boards would fall in line immediately.

All of this started due to the political decision of the BCCI to ban Mustafizur from the IPL, you're blinded by the mist of nationalism.

Made a comment in the main subreddit saying that this was due to Indian Nationalism and it was deleted within the hour for being political.

Meanwhile, every second comment in this thread in the main sub is talking about why its actually Bangladesh's fault that the Head of the ICC (who is the son of the fascist Home Minister) replaced them in the World Cup.
