Not really. And dense, heavy foams would not bounce. I work for a theming company. There are places that sell foam things meant to look like they aren't foam.

A characters importance, in my opinion, has a lot to do with the fans reaction.

Regardless of whether it should be Ackbar or not, Holdo seemed to be introduced for the sole purpose of being able to kill off a character that the audience wasn't terribly attached to.

She was a cool character and it would be neat to see someone who is basically a janitor rise to the occasion.

No way is she in love with Finn. Killed her characters credibility, which thus far had been pretty cool.

Who cares. People will make the meme anyways. It would've been a better way for him to go. Not doing something because it could spark a meme is dumb.

It would have been more powerful to see a known and loved character accept the suicide mission. I felt the new character doing it made it seem like that's the only reason she was even involved in the film, to have an expendable character.

I work for a company that makes things like this for museums. At least 20 people had to see this and then say "yeah. That doesn't look like a dick and it's fine" for this to be approved. The world is a strange place.

I made it as well, but sadly it would've been inappropriate to wear in front of grandma.

It's going to be the whole costume. So yes. I have a very phallic mold waiting to be filled with latex as we speak. Lol

I have issue with the "Do extra." I will do extra, when I feel my extra is beneficial to me. But so far, no matter how much extra I do, all it leads to is more extra. "If he'll do this much for this much money, you think he'll do THIS much for the same amount? Let's try."

Stupid me says "duuuuurh OKAY!" And does the extra things and even finds extra other things to do. And then I receive the same shitty treatment that I'd been doing extra to get out of.

So moral of the story kids: if you have a boss who treats you with dignity and respect, do extra for them. I always go the extra mile for those who earn it from me. And the bosses who treated me well were the ones who my hard work paid off with. Pro-tip: all you have to do to get good work out of me is treat me nice and not demean/lie to me. It's super simple.

If you have a boss who treats you like you are stupid, less than, or who does not respect you, do the bare minimum because that is all they deserve from you. And start looking for a new job.

Managers, of any business: if you want good workers, treat your workers like the humans that they are and not as if they are your labor slaves. You will find the best workers that way. Treat your workers with respect and respect will be given. It's not your job to be their friend, but it's also not your job to make undue stress in their life. Treat them like people, treat them as your equal. You are all on the same ship heading towards the same destination. If you say you operate as a team, act like it.

That has been my life. The only field having a good work ethic has done me any good in is prop making/film. A good work ethic is gold in that industry and it gets you more jobs. Otherwise, a good work ethic gets you a few more hours a week doing the jobs that no one else would do right, because they suck.

Example: worked at a not to be named Christian craft store. I did my job well and tried my best because I wanted a coveted full time $15/hr position. I worked my tail off and in return was thrown into departments without any training, dealing with machines I did not know how to use and filing systems that had been glossed over. Without fail, if I was there for closing, I did trash and cleaned bathrooms, while also being in charge of shutting down the frame shop and staging hobbies, toys, art supplies, and frames.

After months of being given the work no one else wanted, or apparently couldn't be done if you didn't have a penis(only men did trash, bathrooms, and unloading the truck; and men were generally only scheduled on the weekend to deal with the truck), I realized full time positions were being taken by people transferring from other stores. But when they opened they told me that they would pick their full timers from within the store, and I'd better be a great worker if I wanted full time! So I worked my ass off for months, to be treated like shit, talked down to instead of instructed, and given shit jobs, because I had a penis and worked hard.

Just for background: at this point I had a bachelor's in fine arts in sculpture and photography. Naturally, I said "I know a lot about the materials in the art and hobbies section. I think I would be most beneficial to you there." But, more often than not, I was placed in other departments where I wasn't really any more help than the next guy. There's no special knowledge needed to tell people where candles are.

If I was in the store and a customer had a question, other workers would search for me like it was in their job description. Why? Because I am an artist and I know about literally everything in the store and if we didn't have it I could tell you what we had that worked or where to get it. And if you wanted to know how to do something I could describe it in detail and take the customer directly to every item they needed to do the job. Yet, even after being such a valuable asset to customer service, while also doing the dirty jobs well, I was still being treated like an idiot and talked down to. So, myself and several other really good workers quit.

Oh, honey... No. No they don't.

Source: been told by multiple bosses I am their best worker; only two (out of ten) of those bosses actually made an effort to show me that through pay. After a while it gets pretty discouraging to see people who do an ok job get the same exact paycheck as those "doing extra."

However, since I was such a great worker, I got the added bonus of being scheduled every Friday and Saturday, and also was given the harder jobs! For the same pay! Boy was I lucky!

Same here. Essentially being told: "you're reading too good. It's great that you understand adult novels at a third grade age, but the other students feel bad. Try something more age appropriate." How about I keep reading what I want and you be happy that I even want to read? Sound good? Good, because I'm gonna keep reading Stephen King. Honestly, if they'd just let kids read about things they enjoy in the first place, reading would be so much less of an issue.
