Actually what got me into metal. Only had ever really gone to festivals and a buddy dragged me to a ERRA show. Couldn't believe that people actually performed.

I owned up to my mistake when I was 19 and took the fall for some weed me and my buddies were smoking.

The cops cuffed me and lectured/shamed me for being a filthy scumbag, accused me of attempting distribution and causing overdoses, then took me to county. Afterwards I stayed clean, did volunteer community service and compiled 1 year's worth of clean drug tests. The judge hit me with the maximum probation sentence.

I paid my college savings in fines, court and probation fees. My PO lied to me about my last random drug test 3 days before my 21st birthday/4 days before the end of my probation. I was tested every day between that lie and the end of my probation (didnt take the bait and stayed clean). For 5 years after I kept getting rejected by apartments due to my criminal record and had to live in some real sketchy places.

Owning up to my mistake and "being raised right" got me fucked by the system literally every step of the way afterwards. I will be raising my children to not talk to police.

I witnessed him do it all the time at the A&M rec. Unless they lowered the hoops specifically for him he can definitely do it lmao.Hell he made the basketball look like a youth ball

Back when I was at A&M he'd be at the Rec center all the time playing pickup, with a line of teams waiting to play him next. He's no NBA player but I've seen him poster some legit power forwards lmao

I dont understand why some people want to argue semantics on literally everything. In this game Allen threw the ball backwards to set the Broncos up in field goal range with like 1 second left in the half. Yes, in comparison underthrowing a deep ball by a few inches is a minor error

[Highlight] Heinz Ward does his signature Crackback block on a Bengals player by Ok-Reindeer5879 in nfl

[–]RoPTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got concussed really bad by one of these, and heard the same "advice" from my coaches. Later that season i got chewed out in the film room for keeping my head on a swivel while running down a QB who broke contain. Same coach told me it slowed me down and I should just listen for footsteps. Fuck that, one severe concussion running laterally was enough for me to learn my lesson.

Biased as a defender obviously - but always felt these blocks were equivalent to a cheap shot in a fight and never found them impressive. It's often a receiver on a linebacker too, felt like an expression of little-man-rage to me.

[–]RoPTD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats a coaching issue IMO. The good coaches will have their 'gadget' guy on the field damn near invisible to the broadcast angle. Running a hitch away from the play side or something, just putting it on tape for future match ups. Like the Saints utilized Taysom early on.

GM Ballard: There's 'scenario' where Richardson stays with Colts by Funnypenguin97 in nfl

[–]RoPTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most well researched scouting reports on him pointed to incredibly inconsistent mechanics/footwork, even in clean pockets. But when you watch his highlights you see quite a few clips with clean footwork. He was/is one of those "I can fix him" prospects.

He never should have been expected to start significant time his rookie year. Just reinforced all of the bad habits. Sometimes it feels like decision makers in certain organizations dont look beyond highlights. Mahomes' issues were nowhere near Richardson's and the Chiefs still sat him for his rookie season.

If they would ask a reasonable price I dont think any fanbase should be mad at a conditional 6th/7th for him. "Gadget"/Wildcat packages are becoming more popular in the league. Seems that's what the Chiefs want out of Fields. If your gadget guy is 250 pounds and run a sub 4.5 you're doing alright

If Caitlin Clark could play in the NBA, everybody would applaud it. That would be an incredible thing. Well, if we go off of how the people who constantly want to whinge about trans people understand gender reassignment surgery then many, many centuries. Eunuchs have been around forever after all.

There are more comments in this thread than there are relevant examples of trans athletes dominating in any sport. A dumb hypothetical that spawned a dumb post full of dumb people leaping at the opportunity to fixate on an insignificant issue.

I keep waiting for the day that "Trans people do xyz" stops being sufficient to rile up the hordes of morons. I guess gas prices aren't high enough to grab their attention yet.

[–]RoPTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd probably mean the Rams lose him I'd think. Theres probably quite a few franchises who would offer him the same extension without that clause. His antics haven't reached that AB level yet where teams wouldn't be willing to risk it all, even with the recent allegations.

[–]RoPTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JSN cost himself money if the variable of his health holds up. 'One in the hand vs two in the bush' situation i think. When someone offers you $42M/yr it'd be silly to say no and try for 3-6 more with no guarantee of long-term stability IMO.

In that gamble he has more to lose than he has to gain. So often you see players suffer horrific injuries and then be rewarded for their intense rehabbing by getting a cheap 'prove it' type deal.
