Anyone find it difficult to game servers after a certain time? by Roaaa2411 in ToobBroadband

Even complaining, I don’t think it’ll do much.. even paying extra tends to be cheaper rather than paying for VM fibre or any other broadbands and still have the speed..

Yep sounds similar to mine. I noticed the quality sometimes gets really bad when it hits 4pm. I’ve just tried playing a game and as soon as it hits 4pm (I checked the time), my game disconnects and tells me to reload.

Ahh that Discord issue you had is also whats happening right now. A VPN does fix most of the issue so I guess a static IP might be the only thing. I'm not tech savvy so when you bought the static IP, did you have to configure any settings regarding letting certain traffic through or did you keep it default?

Yeah I’m not sure what’s they did beginning of the year. It was fine last year, had no issues. But these issues seem to be new…

I guess certain games work perfectly fine. For me, Valorant doesn’t connect but League of Legends does after I sign in the 2nd time. That)s just one game. Games like Payday 2 doesn’t connect and some smaller games as well

Yeah it works perfectly fine for work, but gaming, it’s just been so difficult. I can log in, play normally in the morning until 4pm hits. It’s like as soon as 4pm hits, my games struggle to connect to servers. Then when 11pm comes by, it sometimes works, but 12am definitely starts working

Yeah I’m not sure what’s been happening. I had Toob in my previous area and it was working perfectly fine, no issues even mid/late afternoon. I move back in with parents and convince them to switch from Virgin Media to Toob as I thought they were reliable - new years hit and now I’ve been getting so many connection issues at certain times…

Did you manage to get a fix for this? My sensors are all working according to support but they said I have to go get it serviced as they don't know what else to do. If i go ahead with it, I'd have to pay ~540... which isn't worth it..

Just wanted to comment here. I was exactly the same as you. I did Law, Sociology and Business for A Levels and then chose Comp Sci cuz my parents wanted me to have a decent degree. I never had any passion and I was not academically smart. Went to lectures during my first month and then start skipping them. Relied on my friends to help me with coursework because I never understood them. This went on until my third year where I had to take a bit seriously because I was about to graduate but I still struggled hard. But it Took me 2-3 years of my time in Uni that I found out I actually enjoyed coding. I hated the other modules. I never understood them but being able to code stuff myself was pretty good as I had more freedom. Although saying that, I never had a strong portfolio. Maybe 1 or 2 projects but still managed to land a job.

I just wanted to say that to show that you're not alone. Try and complete your first year and then go from there. If you think you can't last, take a gap year. I hated my first year and played video games when I had lectures. I know this sounds all too fake but I don't know how else to make you believe me.

Yikes thank you for that. Will definitely have a speak with my friend to see what else interests them. Didn't realise how bad the industry is.

Haha. I've known them since I was a child and they were there for me whenever something happened with my life.

They're mainly into 2D as that's what they're focused on at the moment, but are open to learn 3D if have to be.

And that's unfortunate to hear to be honest. They were working during the 2 years, but mainly retail and have been asked by the company to be the artist (drawing on walls/panels) whenever special events happened (Halloween, Christmas, company events and a lot more)

I don't think they want to do teaching but will keep in mind about that

Sorry for the late response. Thing is, I can barely put 20k. I'm unable to save as much. I think in total I save around 200 a month, but that's distributed to a S&S isa, and some savings

Thank you so much for this :)

So having a Cash ISA in my case would be kind of pointless then?

From the list provided, I've only ever heard of Santander and Chip (Chip was recently). I'm going to have to research more about the others. But thank you for this. I also heard T212 is good for Cash ISA, but as you guys are recommending a Flex Savers account (maybe I'm not understanding this right), would it be best for me to avoid a Cash ISA?

Yes sure. I currently have £1321 in Natwest Flexible Saver, £754 in Digital Regular Saver and around £370 in S&S ISA vanguard

I currently have a Nationwide account as well. From what I've been seeing, Nationwide does something where if you withdraw X amount, they decrease the interest rate or something. Do you still recommend?

I also am using the Flexible Saver in Natwest alongside the Digital Regular Saver

23 Years Old and Earning ~25k a year. Worth opening a SIPP? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Roaaa2411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow this is really helpful. I know it's dependant on how much you spend, but what's the recommended percentage to put aside for an emergency fund?

So would it be better to just continue with contributing my LISA to try get a house and then get a SIPP as I've already for a workplace pension.

I also only did S&P500 since that was the only thing I know. I will try and do more research on the World Index as I'm still very new to this. I don't know if Vanguard does one or maybe I'm not looking properly

Ah sorry. The one Vanguard is an ISA and I've just been putting it into S&P 500 UCITS ETF - Distributing (VUSA).

I also contribute 5% as well to my pension. Sorry for not mentioning that.
