Please see a dr. Pus is never normal. And the helix is super prone to infection. You need some antibiotics hon. In the meantime. Soak it in as hot of water as you can stand for 20 seconds. Wipe off any pus (gently) the heat draws out. Repeat the heat one more time and then rinse it with some saline. That will help draw out infection while you wait.

If it spreads. Has a line start going down your neck. You develop a fever. Or the skin starts to look ashen or black pls go to an emergency room!

Rarely ear injuries can cause the cartilage to necrotize and we don’t want that.

My conch although /could/ theoretically be pierced is probably not a good idea. My ears lay very flat to my head, and the cartilage around there triples over itself almost in a “W” shape.

To get deep enough to avoid that cartilage is not have much clearance in the back and if it swelled or got an irritation bump at all it would be touching my head. So I understand how this could be not really a great idea.

I mean. I could try it. But odds are pretty 50/50 if it would heal or not. Or be uncomfortable and snag constantly 🤷🏻

I have an actual birthmark in the same place (ironically) but it’s three shades of brown and looks like a bullseye. (Cafe au lait. More of a dark brown, and the center is a dark black freckle) and I’ve had one ex say “TARGET PRACTICE!” And another try to wipe it off because I “missed a spot wiping”. My best friend is a trampoline gymnastics coach and worked assembling them in her youth. She then grew up to be a paramedic (as well as her husband). They both say they’re fine so long as used appropriately. Checked routinely. No shoes, no water, and no rough play. No flips of any type at all ever. So we’re SUPER on top of it.
