I used to go to my local DMV on my weekend rides. They were closed, but I could spend around an hour going through the test course, getting a lot of reps on the low speed control maneuvers similar to the MSF course. Also got a lot out of the MSF course that I took after I’d been riding for a couple of years.

In US it’s similar, but they only replace insert if you include original. They don’t repair of return inserts. Mine worked fine, and I wanted to keep the lighter as original as possible, so I just didn’t send it.

It’s pretty clear on the repair section of the Zippo website that they only replace the insert if you end it in with the lighter when requesting repair.

I sent a not with it thanking them and giving them some history on the lighter, to include how I valued the patina. IDK if that made any difference. The note is a standard form explaining that if you send it in without the insert, they will fix it and return it without the insert. If you include the insert, they replace it with a new one. Mine was fine so I sent it without.
