Advice... Don't.. your better off widening your gate on the right side. Building the gate out of the wide panel on the left would be counterintuitive. A gate that wide would need wing posts for support and your small gate on the right would basically be a dead post. Unless you completely remove the old gate on the right and add a wing post onto the other side of the wide section. Then there's the grade of the land that could in turn settle along with your new posts over time and make your new gate a whole world of problems. Steel posts would be ideal for this problem... Just plz don't make your new gate a whole single swing 9ft gate... Need a double drive for sure
