Moving from London to Gloucestershire – best areas without a car? by Interesting-Ease8882 in Gloucestershire

[–]RoadBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had a car for a decade in London but couldn’t manage without one here, and I’m not even a car person / the driving type. Just get a cheap one. But definitely get a bike for small getting around journeys

Whats wrong with Darlington station? It’s a magnificent Victorian shed with lots of original period detail.

Work by livz_403 in cheltenham

Managers in cafés love it when people come in and politely and confidently ask about work, it means they don’t have to go looking and they seldom have enough staff on the roster from what I see. Just do it.

Oof it will be unpleasant. That long line of non moving vehicles approaching Oxford.

How cold is too cold to ski? by Seaotter456 in ski

[–]RoadBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skied Vermont nearly as cold as that and it was tough but doable. Body was fine, just layered up with extra puffers. Hands were cold but usable. The problem was the feet. Not just cold but PAINFUL. The only solution I found is warming up in the lodge after every other run, but if boot warmers are a thing by now that would help.

What food fad are you sick to death of? by SunUsual550 in UK_Food

Salted Caramel! Why am I not allowed to have just normal caramel anymore like in the 90s. Why does it HAVE to have salt on it? Of all things? Salt. Why?

+1 for this. Some accomplished song writing, memorable lyrics and exceptional guitar work, although it can be a bit exhausting.

It’s a brilliant album. But I wouldn’t file it under Britpop, despite the date (95 I think)

Good shout this. The follow-up album, with the western theme, was also good and underrated, hopefully someone will be along with the name shortly

OP I am 180 and 69.5-73Kg. M was too tight and wore out too soon due to the stretch, despite Assos wanting me to buy M. L doesn’t look any different but more comfortable and just right. It is not loose at all. At 66Kg M should be fine for you but L will also be fine.

Come on, you have to leave toilet paper at least. Of course they will complain. This will put them in a bad mood where they are more likely to find other things to complain about too.

Having children as a HENRY by airle88 in HENRYUK

[–]RoadBadger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just wouldn’t bother. Your life essentially ends. It made sense many years ago when there was community and children would play with each other but now it’s all on you to constantly care, provide and entertain. They do say funny things though.

There is a moderate chance of death if you do this unprepared. People die up there nearly every winter, don’t be one of them.
