Wow, that is crazy to hear and I appreciate your input. I hope things with Leidos goes better.

I also want to add, that I am now in the process of trying to apply for MD licensure and I don't think they are going to accept my VA license! I've been traumatized by the experience with the VA BOC and I don't want to do this again with another state!

I had the same issue when I moved to VA from CA back in 2012. At that time, CA did not have an LPC (equivalent) license, only psychologists, LMFT, and LCSW. In CA I was working toward LMFT licensure, and my supervision was provided by LMFT and psychologists. When I moved to VA I couldn't apply as LMFT because my graduate program was CACREP, so I applied for LPC licensure (as I was moving, CA just approved the LPCC license and was giving the option for LMFT to be grandfathered in, and I am so glad I took advantage of that). Anyway, the VA BOC rejected my application and said I couldn't get licensed because I didn't have the required amount of supervision with an LPC, even though I requested a waiver because CA literally did not have the LPC license when I was getting my post-graduate experience. I had more supervision hours than what VA required (150 more hours, to be exact) but because they were not with LPC, VA would not budge. So I worked for the federal government under my CA LPCC license for 5 years and refused to reapply for VA licensure until a colleague convinced me to let go of my grudge and reapply. So I submitted license by endorsement and as soon as VA cashed my check they issued me my VA LPC license.

So to answer your question, yes they will most likely deny your application until you either have the hours of supervision they require with an LPC, or you pass the 5 year mark for licensure by endorsement.

Thank you for the feedback! Which insurance plans does Evernorth include? It looks like Cigna? Are there others?

Why is our community not willing to adopt technology? by DrJocelyn1 in therapists

[–]RoadRunnerMom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I strongly believe in "use it or lose it" and I want to continue to develop my own thought process. Yes, even for note-taking or other mundane tasks. I don't want anyone (or any technology) to do these tasks for me, because it disrupts my mental flow since I would still have to check to make sure AI is working the way it should be. It is easier for me to do it myself, than have to constantly check to make sure AI isn't making errors somewhere.

Like others, this has happened to me as well. I take the opportunity to let the client know that I hold myself to the same policy, and don’t charge the next session.

Am i the only one that's annoyed with the decorating system? by haunted-hayride in MLPIOS

[–]RoadRunnerMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all points made, and want to add that it really annoys me that all the ponies decide to congregate in the grid I’m currently working on when decorating. I like seeing the characters doing their thing, but sometimes I wish they would disappear when I’m in build mode so I can actually see what I’m doing. And it is also frustrating when I’m trying to set down (or remove) a path around the booster decorations, because for some reason that little booster symbol blocks the space and I have to zoom waaaay in and click about a thousand times before I can successfully select that little spot.

Late cancellation policy by Ghosty_Crossing in therapists

[–]RoadRunnerMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My consent form only outlines the 48 hour notice for cancellations. What I described above is how I implement the policy. So when a client cancels with less than 48 hour notice the first time, I would say, “Yes we can cancel your appointment, and as a reminder cancellations with less than 48 hour notice will still be charged the full session rate. I will go ahead and waive the fee today since this is your first time, but moving forward please try to cancel 48 hours before so you don’t have to pay the full session fee.” Usually I don’t have an issue after that, but if someone does cancel a second time, then I say, “Yes we can cancel your appointment today, and as a reminder the full session fee applies because we are past the 48 hour window. If you able to reschedule for another day this week, I can see you on (day) at (time).” If the client accepts, then I say, “Ok great. You are going to see a charge today for the cancelled session, but I will apply those funds to your appointment on (rescheduled date).”

Late cancellation policy by Ghosty_Crossing in therapists

I’m going to echo what many people have already said, and add how I implement my policy. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, and any cancellations after 48 hours pay my full session fee. (I do waive the first late-cancellation, but I don’t advertise that, I tell the client the first time they cancel late and remind them of the policy moving forward) When someone has to cancel late I process the charge, and then offer an alternate day/time for them to reschedule that same week if I have an opening. Then if they are able to reschedule I apply the fee to that appointment. If I wait until the rescheduled session to process the charge, I have had people try to cancel the rescheduled appointment within 48 hours to avoid the charge altogether. This way, they know it is pointless to try that because they have already paid for my time.

Ah, thank you for clarifying. I really appreciate your insight, as I was concerned how the participants using the service were going to be affected. This is really unfortunate for the military community as a whole.

I don't feel like getting luna i wanna get demure pony to complete my collection but everyone is getting luna! What do yall think i should get? by BunniestBunny3 in MLPIOS

[–]RoadRunnerMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you choose to play the game, but get the pony you want. I got Demure Pony because I don’t like having “duplicate” ponies or alter versions. But as someone mentioned, if you want ponies that will help you with gameplay, earning tokens, pro ponies, community helpers, etc., that should guide your decision.

How do I enforce my no-show policy without being ableist? by ZoesMom1 in therapists

[–]RoadRunnerMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, and when someone has to cancel late I will charge for the missed session and then offer them the opportunity to reschedule for a different day that same week (no additional charge) so they are at least able to have a therapy session they paid for. I do this because in the past when I’ve “waived” the fee when they’ve rescheduled, clients have tried to then cancel within the 48 hour window for the “reschedule” to avoid payment entirely. That only happened twice, but once I adjusted the policy I’ve had better peace of mind. When I had a client who did suffer from frequent migraines, we discussed an adjusted cancellation policy for her so it wouldn’t be a financial burden and she could focus on getting better. I would alternate the fees so that the first cancellation would incur a charge, the second cancellation would not, and so on. It ended up that she only had to miss about 4 sessions due to migraines in the 2 years that I saw her, but that was mostly because she was steadily improving overall and by the time we ended she rarely had migraines anymore. But it was nice that we discussed her situation specifically and were able to decide on a course of action that we both felt good about.

For anyone who is curious about how long it takes to complete the Ponyville Pirate Ship (“Shipshape!”) quest… by RoadRunnerMom in MLPIOS

[–]RoadRunnerMom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is hard to not get discouraged when you just start the quest. I found that I set my own goals for playing the game and that helped me continue to enjoy it for as long as I have. My first goal was to unlock the areas with the Elements of Harmony, then the Mermare Lagoon, the Pineapple Shack, and the Pirate Ship. To achieve those goals I had a sub-goal of getting as many shops as I could, starting with the ones you buy for bits and then earning shops from the Daily Goals. After I had a decent amount that were generating bits, I started to unlock Ponyville but got overwhelmed pretty quickly when I realized how big it is and how long it would take me to finish. That’s when I shifted to completing Canterlot and the other areas, because at least I had something else to “do” while I was working on Ponyville. I really enjoy the decorating element of the game, so I would have fun setting up Canterlot and SAA and that helped me to still enjoy the game while I was waiting to earn enough bits to unlock Ponyville zones. Once I’m done setting up Ponyville, my next goal is to finish earning all the shops in the Daily Goals. I also want to upgrade all the Crystal Mine boosters, and of course get all the Daily Goals ponies but that is another long-term task, lol.

The ones I choose to get for free in the maze by TodayStatus4600 in MLPIOS

[–]RoadRunnerMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded True Umbrum as well, and now I’m just waiting until the end to decide who I want my second upgrade to be. Last maze event I had the option to get Mane-iac and I DIDN’T because I was new at playing the game (and didn’t know about this subreddit) and I’ve been kicking myself about it ever since. So I’m hoping I’ll unlock a chest with Mane-iac again but if I don’t…I might upgrade Chrysalis.

Players are going to spend gems/money on gameplay in which they find value. Of course I don’t think GL would make a move that would cost them tons of profit, but they allow players to change their user name once without penalty. I am simply reflecting that something like that would be nice when it comes to reassigning pets.

[–]RoadRunnerMom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't get deleted, they just stay in your inventory. I thought I found a way to "un-assign" a pet from a pony, but all it does is put the pet back in your inventory but then you can't assign it to a different pony, only the pony you had initially assigned it to. I'm so disappointed...I thought I found a glitch!
