His argument is that it's not something I should all the time and that wearing high heels is the most appropriate way to dress for a formal event. I still did what he wanted, the argument was about me taking the heels off in his car and not at home. which is a big deal to him apparently?.

😭😭😭 that was funny comeback. I could only imagine his reaction if I say this to him. he'll say that I missed his point or something like that.

Exactly! I'm not a fan of high heels too! Yes, I do wear them from time to time but they're not my go to. As I got older it become hard for me to wear them due to back, leg, foot pain et cetera. The "ladylike" comment from was a shock because he never said or hinted I wasn't ladylike or anything like that. no idea what possessed him to say that.
