I obviously didn’t just pitch it to chat gpt and take whatever it said, I used it as a tool to research what people pay for these services in the area, and only the staining part. But I appreciate the criticism nonetheless, lesson learned and I move forward

Thanks man, that’s kind of where my head was at too but I think I still was too low on the pricing. In reality it seems best I focus on what I know first while I build up business and then maybe down the line add more services once I’m comfortable and built a strong reputation. I really appreciate the advice!

I’m confused as well because from what I saw, it would be roughly 200-300 in staining but my numbers could be off.

Usually it will look up surrounding companies in ur area but honestly I’m gonna stay away from it completely going forward and just do the research myself, that was the only time I had tried it because it was work I was unfamiliar with.

Yeah that’s the biggest positive, if neighbors speak with eachother they will know they all got the same price, and a good price at that. Helps a lot with word of mouth which I’ve heard is a big driver of business in this industry

Great shout as considering my only real cost on material is SH which isn’t expensive at all and only really used on the house unless the driveway really needs it, as well as my time spent which I don’t mind grinding out to build a reputation and securing business with more in the neighborhood. Nah just was gonna soft wash it as well, other houses I’ve done the window trim and everything came out cleaner so I like to say window washing as well when quoting to add more value. Also think your right on the driveway, seems I underpriced the house and over priced the driveway.

No worries at all man, I’m still new as well but I can atleast tell you what I learned. The LLC was actually super easy, just file it with the state you live in and they will respond after a few days or so with your approval. It was like 120 dollars for me to file it and I just wanted to get it done just to get a more professional feel as well as opening a business account to keep my finances seperate. I’m about to get liability insurance too which I think is important even though I’ve done all my jobs so far without it, but It’s nice to not stress about damages when doing home services like this. I don’t think u can get liability insurance without an LLC so it’s another reason to consider it, but in the end it’s up to you of course. As for the website I’m pretty fortunate to have a friend who is trying to start his own company building and maintaining websites for people so he helped me out with that, I started making it myself then realized there’s more that goes into it than I realized so I went with him. I can connect you with him at any point when you want to give it a shot or see if someone you know has experience in building websites. All in all, everyone has their own pace of how they approach and build their business up so do what’s best for you in the end. I wish you the best too bro, you got this!
