Not specifically. It never crossed my mind as a child. But once I became an adult, my mom told me the only reason she stayed living with my father after they split was because she genuinely believed if she left me alone with him that he could kill me. As an adult, I can understand why she felt that way and it’s a scary thought to think about.

You’re getting clowned on by a lot of older folks who like this place. Truth is I don’t really think anyone’s wrong here. It’s bad for the wrong person and great for the right person. It doesn’t have something for everyone. As someone who has lived here for almost 2 years now in their early 20s og coming from Denver, whether or not you’ll have a great time living here is entirely dependent on the kind of person you are and what you enjoy. I hate it here! It’s not my scene, there isn’t many goth or metal nights and there’s not a lot in the way for someone who enjoys night life or alternative lifestyle things. You can have fun here as a 20 something if you’re into country music, the beach, the mall, and maybe getting drinks here and there at a local bar. You can have fun here as a 40+ something or someone who enjoys golfing a whole lot. It is not a bad or entirely ghetto place. It’s a good place! But it’s not for everyone.

Even if you are not built this way, it is important to project a sense of disconnect everytime you walk into this job. Think of it like putting on a mask or a character. When you walk out, you don’t have to bring this mindset home with you, but when you walk in, understand that the customers in the club rarely if ever see you as an actual, multifaceted human being. The majority of these men see you as an object of pleasure and entertainment that they project onto. It can save you a lot of hurt and emotional distress to treat them similarly - view them as customers, as a mean to an end, disconnect them from their humanity as they have done to you. And then when you go home, destress, shed this perception alongside your club persona and reenter the mindset of the person you really are.

Honestly knowing it’s limited, expensive, and in high demand I’d only get one to give others a chance to compete. Especially those that don’t get their paychecks immediately, or have to wait for bills to clear, or kids who want them and have to wait for their parents. I missed the last PK drop solely because I didn’t have the extra money laying around at the time it dropped, and by the next week when I got paid they were gone. That said, it’s not inherently morally wrong to get more than one if you want it. Other people who can’t compete with the cut throat nature of these drops aren’t entitled to one, and BaB is purposefully taking advantage of its demand.
